Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

Andrew was also forecast to make a last minute though to the north. It never happened and MANY were caught unprepared.

Good point. Oh boy, there were a lot of people who woke up with a start when Hurricane Andrew knocked them out of their beds and into the fields.
For rode it out in two story townhouse. Water was 4’deep on second floor, roof and windows blown out. You can stop see the fright in her eyes when she tells the stories.

My stepfather-in-law lives on the barrier island ...just up from Sebastian Inlet. Often he rides it out. (*eye roll*. But hes 85 and couldnt give a sh*t). But THIS time he headed to friends in Tarpon Springs.
