Amazon is reportedly working on speeding up checkouts at its physical stores by using your hand as a form of identification.

According to a the New York Post, the retail giant is said to be quietly testing new scanners that can identify human hands to make a store purchase. The company intends to roll out the payment technology at its Whole Foods supermarket chain starting next year.

I use credit cards that are scanned into my phone to pay most of my purchases. it requires me to put my thumbprint on the button to identify myself. It takes a fraction iff the time as handing my physical credit card over.

But now, those same credit cards, Mastercard, Visa are using facial recognition. I just look at my phone instead of pressing my thumbprint.

No, I didn’t want to do this but it’s so much easier and faster.

I’m 70 and it no problem!

... and, to tie it all up: My new computer [I have not seen it yet] has a button up by the F keys to press when you buy things online with your credit card. I do not know if they will switch to facial recognition soon as well.

BTW, airports are using facial recognition to hurry up the lines to identify who you are before you board.

I am 73 and I have the same attitude. If I was 20 I would be worried, but at 73 there is not much time left for this to become a problem for me.

I know they can track Cell Phones and I am pretty sure there is a computer somewhere collating all the personal information on an individual and linking their cell phone to that information.

So it is not a stretch to assume someone can click a few buttons and not only know everything there is to know about an individual, but where they are at at that point in time.

We are just a few steps closer to 1984.

But, history does not move in a straight line. Something could happen that would change all this.
