Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Miami Will Not Exist in a ‘Few Years’
Breitbart ^ | 13 Sep 2019 | Pam Key

0:41 Wednesday at the NAACP town hall, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Miami has only a few years left on this planet.

Ocasio-Cortez said, “When it comes to climate change, what is not realistic is not responding … with a solution on the scale of the crisis—because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years. That’s not realistic. So we need to be realistic about the problem.”

Isn’t this the same ocean that laps the shores of Obama’s new estate? Will this ocean only rise and wipe out the more southern land masses? This must be a very confusing issue for anyone wanting to purchase waterfront property. Is the same dire warning applicable to the Pacific? Man. Houses should be going up for sale in California....dirt cheap!

I think she means her job won’t exist in another year.

Meanwhile China lols at this climate change apocalypse. They are surely behind this. This scare is Al Gore 2.0 but many kids are being brainwashed from the first grade on. We have to take back our schools from the communists.

Back in the day, I used to measure tiny things - white blood cells, viruses, stuff like that. I worked with people who measured molecules.

Now, I’m not confident in a method that measures variations in the level of ALL THE WATER ON EARTH in millimeters, while said water is constantly in motion and subject to gravitational forces from the sun and the moon, as well as constant variance in surface atmosphere pressure.

To boil it down, the whole thing sounds like BS.

Interesting stuff. I’m not qualified to a assess this guy’s work - but, just in passing, most scientists I know who brag about their work as much as he does in that article are of questionable reliability.

Just sayin’. YMMV.

Climate change has already wiped out saber-toothed tigers and wooly mammoths!

I live in Minneapolis. About 7500 years ago it was under a mile of ice. Due to climate change I now live on a nicely wooded lot.

To boil it down, the whole thing sounds like BS.

That’s exactly what it is. A scam by scientists to get more funding and a scam by politicians to control people.

This dummy really believes that only certain locales can be inundated by rising sea waters. Her train of thought probably consists of: Miami = south = hotter temperatures = first to get deluged.

She probably thinks ‘displacement’ has something to do with homeless camps getting busted up. Who knows, it’s amazing this dimbulb’s brain can manage the forced air induction into the lungs for breath.

I will argue that she may be right, at least partially.

There will be a sea level rise that will innudate Miami and the destruction will make the Bahamian destruction seem trivial.

For evidence, I direct you to the opening scenes of CSI Miami where the camera flies over the canals and open water surrounded by dwellings and buildings essentially at sea level adjacent to the water.

The hurricane that dumped uncountable inches of rain and the storm surge that wiped out the Bahamas will be worse when the cat 4 or 5 hits Miami. A relatively minor storm surge will be devistating. A surge like that predicted for Dorian will destroy miami

It’s a farce when anyone tells us they can measure the “rise” of the ocean in terms of a few millimeters. The entire system is too dynamic. The earth isn’t a billiard ball with a fixed surface.

Excuse me, injecting "facts" into the narrative is not allowed....

She is absolutely correct about Miami when she says: “... because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing...”. No disputing that statement.

That’s exactly what Al Gore was saying back in the 80’s. Miami is still doing fine. Ai Gore - not so much.

The next King Tide that floods Miami will have AOC in orgasms.

Yes probably so. The way these liberals talk, you would swear they would love to see major hurricane disasters in the US, to use as evidence of global warming.

He is one if not the best at what he does so he has reason to brag. The fact that he calls sea level rise a fraud gives him credibility with me. The idea that he gets grants etc. is ridiculous.
