Thousands of Tractors Shut Down Highways in Farmer’s Anti-Green Madness Protest

Thousands of farmers shut down highways in a go-slow protest converging on the Dutch capital Monday, as they protested being victimised by a government trying to meet European Union emissions laws by cracking down on agriculture.

The day of protest is the thirds of its kind and follows another at the start of October. At the time, Dutch media reported the protests were against a call by the government that herds of animals reared for food should be culled so the nation could meet its European Union-imposed nitrogen emission targets.

The Dutch police and army, on the instructions of the centrist-globalist prime minister Mark Rutte, attempted to shut down the main roads leading into the capital Wednesday, but using the off-road capabilities afforded by driving a tractor, the protestors simply drove around the blockades, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports. Rutte called on farmers to “keep the peace” and follow the instructions of police.

That reminds me of the old man who was working in his garden. His little grand daughter asked...

“What are you doing Grampa?”

Gramps: “I’m digging potatoes.”

Girl: “Oh Grampa, you’re so silly. You don’t get potatoes from the ground, you get potatoes from the store!”

The socialists have been doing it here in our country for decades. Doing all in their power to put ranchers, farmers, even fishermen out of business.

They cannot comprehend our agriculture community not only feeds our country very well but provides food for many people in other countries as well. Their favorite thing is to use the excuse of endangered specie- from minnows to wolves as a hammer over our own food producers. Depriving ranchers of land and water, depriving farmers of water...putting regulations in place that become such a burden many cannot stay in business.

The socialists do not want us to produce our own food. They want us to import it. Easier to control the food supply that way.

I hope we wake up before the grocery store shelves are empty.

What do they care about farmers; don't they get their food from local markets?

I've met people who are idiots enough to actually think that.

City buses use more fuel, per passenger-mile than automobiles. That’s virtually universal. It’s because transit buses run mostly empty for most of the day.

There are more gays and lesbians (3% of the population) than there are framers (2% of the population). Farmers have a huge and disproportionate political impact then their small size would dictate.

Farming accounts for about for 1% of the USA. $22T GDP, a big nothing burger.

Nobody cares where the wheat comes from in the bread they eat just like the don't care where the cars and other durable good are made. Farmers are subsidized babies.

It would probably be cheaper to import our food than deal with our subsidized tractor monkeys.

Parking at the capitol wouldn’t get the people’s attention. They need to have the people squawking to get the politicians’ attention.
