David Gilbert, a founding member of Columbia University Students for a Democratic Society and member of the Weather Underground, sits in a maximum-security prison in upper state New York in the Wende Correctional Facility.
He is serving a, 75 years to life, sentence for being a member of the Weather Underground group who along with members of the Black Liberation Army, robbed a Brink's truck on October 20, 1981.
Two Nyack, NY police officers Waverly Brown and Edward O'Grady and Brinks guard Peter Paige were murdered during the robbery.
Prison has apparently not mellowed Gilbert. He has a book out which he wrote in prison, No Surrender: Writings from an Anti-Imperialist Political Prisoner.
At the time of the robbery, Gilbert had a 14 months old boy. The mother of the boy, Kathy Boudin, also took part in the robbery and served a 22 years sentence.
With both Gilbert and Boudin sentenced to long terms, Weather Underground leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn adopted the toddler, Chesa Boudin.
But Chesa's interesting lineage does not start with his radical parents nor with Ayers.

I’m sorry that the beautiful city is destroyed for future generations, but nothing is forcing you to stay. How much worse will it take to cause everyone to leave?

I actually live in Minot ND. We had a -40 morning last winter with 30mph wind. Your nether parts are the last thing you want exposed at that temperature.
Maybe they can start selling tee shirts that say, I Left A Dump In San Francisco. That will be their new slogan.

I lived in Fargo for many years. I did jobs outside in those temperatures plenty of times. Nasty stuff.
It’ll save trips to Target too, because pervs can just whip it out in front of women and kids wherever they want to.
For me, as someone who doesn’t live there, I could care less. That’s what the voters, voted for, let them have it. Of course, all of this behavior will be contained to one part of the city. Did he say that these violations won’t be prosecuted or are the laws being stricken from the code. Big difference. If they won’t be prosecuted, they’re still there if needed. If they’re off the books then there’s nothing that can be done, until the next legislative session.
That being said, I’m betting that if these activities start happening where the Rich, White, Liberal folks live, then I’m thinking some of these individuals, will at least be driven to another part of the city, if not tossed into the city jail for a night or two. Can’t have the savages dirtying up the nice side of town.
And, best part is, this is happening all over the country. Denver is doing the same thing. Dallas won’t prosecute thefts unless the theft is over $750. Atlanta wants to close or has closed its city jail, so the only thing the city will prosecute is traffic violations. All of them will become absolute sh*tholes, even more than they already are.
But, the ABSOLUTE WORST part of this is, the rich folks in all those cities will move. And when they do they will bring with them, their sick & demented ideology and destroy their next home as they’re rich enough to insulate themselves from all of it and arrogant enough to not acknowledge that they’re the problem.
Maybe they figure the urine will wash the feces off the sidewalks.
First time I visited SF was in the early ‘70s. Had a great time. Fair number of visits between then and the mid ‘90s. It was different by then and not in a good way. Avoided the city thereafter but had to go there in 2012 for a conference. Once outside the hotel it was a pit. Haven’t been back since and no plans to.

Public toilets? Apparently not an option. Why? I’m thinking that experience has shown that things happen in them that not even SF democrats want to facilitate.
So pee and poo on the streets, san franfreakans!
But if you make yellow snow in public in the wintertime, expect to be fined and/or spend some time in the crossbars motel where they will feed you lutefisk or overcooked hot dish.
Fargo North alumnus here. Other than the very long bitter winters, the humid hot summers, mosquitoes the size of a Buick, the floods and the constant wind it’s not that bad.
Someone needs to pee on his car.
