Billionaire Michael Bloomberg plans to spend $34 million on anti-Trump commercials in 46 states

Michael Bloomberg, who is mulling a run for the Democratic presidential nomination, will spend $34 million to run just one week of ads bashing President Donald Trump, according to a new report.

The ad campaign is slated to run nearly nationwide beginning on Monday, and comes one day after Bloomberg filed paperwork creating a presidential campaign committee, according to Politico.

Bloomberg is worth $52 billion according to Forbes, and reportedly plans to spend up to $500 million of his fortune seeking the presidency.

The gargantuan ad buy is possibly the largest one-week spend in U.S. political history, eclipsing the $30 million then-President Barack Obama dropped in a week while seeking re-election in 2012.

The initial ad buy will see ads running in all but two of the contiguous 48 states, according to tracking firm Advertising Analytics.

Bloomberg committed this past week to spending $100 million in digital ads aimed just at Trump and another $15 to $20 million to register half a million voters.

Way more than the Russians spent to "influence" the election. Using that logic, he'll win 2020. 🙄

he lives in NY. let him advertise his krap there.
this kind of gross arrogance is why so many people dis-respect or even despise him

and why he will never be President

So that’s about 20 million of his money, and 10 million of the taxpayers?

Not up on tax deductions.

it’s legal to spend as much of your own money as you want on your campaign.

I don’t know the requirements for matching funds from govt, i think i remember there’s a limit you can spend to qualify for that

Pompous a$$!
If he really cared about the poor, he would give all his money to charity and live as an unprivileged White.

Michael Bloomberg is pretty high on the scumbaggery synopsis in this country. Will use his money to make his personal sentiments become law. It’s great to be rich.

Good, that’ll be 34 million he can’t spend on something that might make a difference.

Could spend 34 Billion dollars, it won’t move the needle. Ads won’t be any different from what’s already happening 24/7 at CNN/MSNBC/NBC/CBS/ABC/WP/NYT/etc. Moon bats will love the ads, but they already own that crowd. Stoopid lib.

Tom Steyer has already spent $30+ million on anti-Trump ads. Anyone think they made a difference?

$34 Million in all of those states won’t buy much air time unless the networks are giving a steep discount.

It will buy plenty, as long as you buy them on vintage channels during episodes of Mr. Ed and Emergency! It will be sandwiched between Mesothelioma lawsuit ads and walk in bathtub offers.
