“On the other hand, I mentioned graduating in 1980 and from that you have asserted that we got married in 1980 when we were seventeen and eithteen.”
How can you be so wrong? I never mentioned your marriage, and you didn’t mention in your first post that you were married at all. What I posted is true. You were wrong. That’s all there is to it. This has nothing to do with your marriage, or your age. Get over it.
Why no as a matter of fact I was not wrong.
And you were and still are personally dishonest. You tried directly to twist what I said.
Because I said that the better conditions for interracial conditions in that period were for America outside of the great lakes and the coasts.
If you were not lying and are not lying now, and if you were not and are not trying to twist what I said then you will be able to show that the surveys you posted also exclude the great lakes States and the coasts. So that they match.
You know, to prove that they match. To show that you are not just a lying little weasel making false comparisons.
You wrote: “Why no as a matter of fact I was not wrong.”
Reality Check:
You originally wrote: “in 1980...There were more interracial marriages than there are now”.
But the truth is: “Rates of intermarriages among newlyweds in the U.S. more than doubled between 1980 (6.7%) and 2008 (14.6%).”
Then you brought up this: “On the other hand, I mentioned graduating in 1980 and from that you have asserted that we got married in 1980 when we were seventeen and eithteen.”
I never asserted or even suggested you married in 1980. Not even once. What I wrote - based squarely on your mentioning of 1980 - was this:
[And I was directly quoting] - Rates of intermarriages among newlyweds in the U.S. more than doubled between 1980 (6.7%) and 2008 (14.6%). However, different groups experienced different trends. Rates more than doubled among whites and nearly tripled among blacks. But for both Hispanics and Asians, rates were nearly identical in 2008 and 1980. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interracial_marriage_in_the_United_States#2008_Pew_Research_Center_Report
You then said about 1980: “I graduated young, and in 1980. Most of us didnt get married until our mid twenties or early thirties.”
I had said nothing about you graduating in 1980. I never said anything about you marrying in 1980. You are literally making that up out of thin air.
In the next post I mentioned 1980 only in this way: “So you actually think the fact that interracial marriages have doubled since 1980 proves that in 1980...
There were more interracial marriages than there are now?”
In other words, I only quoted what I had written or quoted before and none of it - not a single word - was about your graduation or marriage.
Yet, bizarrely, in your very next post you wrote this: “On the other hand, I mentioned graduating in 1980 and from that you have asserted that we got married in 1980 when we were seventeen and eithteen.”
I had never once mentioned your graduation or marriage. NEVER ONCE. Why do you keep lying about this?
“If you were not lying and are not lying now, and if you were not and are not trying to twist what I said then you will be able to show that the surveys you posted also exclude the great lakes States and the coasts. So that they match.”
Rocket Scientist, interracial marriages have doubled since 1980. They have gone up five times over in the last 50 years. Those are facts. Deal with them.
“You know, to prove that they match. To show that you are not just a lying little weasel making false comparisons.”
Listen, rocket scientist, you’re the only one who is lying here. You keep lying that I said something - God only knows what - about you marrying in 1980. I never said you married in 1980. You LITERALLY made that up out of thin air. If you want to see a liar, look in the mirror.
You have been wrong all along and that won’t change.
In my original post I qualified my statement with the following: outside of the great lakes states and the coasts as I was referring to the plains states and the southwest. The area in which I and my extended family lived. I specifically excluded areas that were outside of my subculture.
You know that America isn't homogeneous don't you?
Probably not.
Geography is beyond you. Reading is beyond you. You take things out of context in a snotty way, repeatedly refuse to be corrected when pointed back to the original statement and double down on your snottiness.
One cannot debate with you because you refuse to address what people actually say and then insist on instead trying to correct them about things which they took pains not to say.
In any case, you were still wrong.
The number of interracial marriages has increased in EVERY STATE, EVERY REGION of the United States. There is not a single municipality in the United States that has FEWER interracial marriages now than decades ago. NOT ONE.
What part of that do you not understand?
And then you go on and on patently lying by saying that I said you married in 1980. I NEVER SAID THAT NOR EVEN REMOTELY SUGGESTED IT.
So... this is a fun little discussion. :-) Hope you don't mind if I interject...
You're both right.
Vladimir998 posted statistics.
MrEdd pointed out that statistics don't tell the whole story.
But here's the real question: Why is this an issue here on a GOP forum? *shrug*
Because a big effect of the leftwing “white privilege” political assault on America has been to put heavy negative pressure on interracial families and I commented on it in that light.
Vlad here wasn’t having anybody say that interracial relationships were easier before all the “white privilege” crap and began trying to twist what I said into something that he could berate.
But he is too clumsy at twisting my actual words to get where he seems to want to go.
I would say that pretty much describes the situation.
Agreed. The past 20-year period has been an increasingly difficult time to raise a family. The Left has been working hard to keep people divided into groups and to teach young people to hate each other. They also like to equate "race" with "same-sex" issues. They pit one group against another, and when the groups fight, the Left sits back and smiles.
