I have read a bit on the subject-the Rosenberg’s involvement (both of them-husband and wife) were verified as Soviet spies when a lot of Soviet-era intelligence was released.

The Venona Files (Soviet communications that we were able to read because we had broken their code) provided indisputable proof that both the Rosenbergs were involved.

Because we were able to decrypt their communications we were able to see what the Soviets were saying, but were mostly unable to positively confirm exactly what they were discussing until the fall of the Soviet Union enabled us to see their documentation and cross match to various elements.

The worldwide outrage against the Rosenbergs was orchestrated by the Soviets and the worldwide Communist party.

Morton Sobell, who was the last convicted person in that case who died in 2008 admitted he was spying for the Soviets (and said that Julius Rosenberg was as well) in an interview before he died. He did say Ethel Rosenberg was not part of the ring, but I don’t believe him. He spent his entire life lying about it.

The Rosenbergs were both committed communists and admitted that openly, saying they were being prosecuted

After reading extensively about the CPUSA and such (from a variety of different sources) the concept that his wife wasn’t involved given her commitment is unsupportable. That wasn’t the way those people operated.

The fact that Elizabeth Warren asked an American president to clear the name of a despicable proven traitor tells you all you need to know about how she would behave as president.

hatred of the good and love of the evil = a sign of evil

Worthless commie bitch! You can guess to which one I’m referring to.

OBTW, it was a friggin’ CPUSA member who once said of Lizzie Warren,

“Nobody with a net worth of fifteen million dollars has any business lecturing the rest of us about the virtues of socialism!”

Ethel Rosenberg was more of a committed, hard core communist than her husband. She was definitely a critical part of the spy ring.

Those were the good old days when the actually treated spies correctly... By executing them.

Unlike the Obama’s administration. Russian spies caught during his reign were put on planes as quickly as possible and then sent back to Russia before they could testify as to which political figures circles they had infiltrated. Hillary sure was thankful.

These are dangerous people, and the Democrats better get the commies out of their party.

“I guess,technically speaking,it’s possible that she wasn’t”

The NSA had highly secret knowledge she was guilty and could not afford to identify its sources. They had to depend on her brother to get the point across. She was a Russian agent and complicit.

... much of what Joe alleged was verified by documentation that came to light after the fall of the Soviet Union.

He has access to the decoded Venona intercepts, and was unable to unmask spies with 100% accuracy lest the Soviets suspect. It was unfortunately necessary to falsely accuse some.

The Rosenbergs were true believers. They devoted their entire lives to their faith. They spied for their faith. They lied for their faith. They died for their faith. I have never questioned their courage or their integrity. They were communist heroes. I.e., heroes on the wrong side, morally no different than the devoted SS men who died in the rubble of Berlin because their Fuehrer had ordered it.

This threatens to make Bernie look pro American by comparison. Maybe he can salvage his image by petioning to pardon the Walker spy family.

I believe that communist-sympathizers at the time believed that the evidence against Ethel Rosenberg was not as strong as that for her husband Julius. Evidently, Elizabeth Warren has adopted a position that only Communists would buy into back in the 50’s. And causes like this one, Hurricane Carter’s, Mumia Abu Jamal’s are clung to like religious dogma even though the evidence is so strongly against each of them.

the opposite is true, she was the most radical in the family and was the Kingpin of the operation. Connecting her brother in Los Alamos with her husband as secrets were passed. This was all absolutely proven when the venona papers were released in 91. And she loves Stalin more than her own kids. All she had to do to save her life was confess what happened.

She chose to die rather than betray the cause. Hope the bitch is still burning in hell

Exactly. In my readings, the women seemed to me to almost always more strident believers than the men were. IIRC, she was present at a lot of the meetings and discussions they had

I believe Morton Sobell clung to this lie to his death in an effort to still portray this conviction of her as unjust.

There was this article I came across Rosenberg Lies Never Cease and while the author exposes himself in one respect with this sentence "...Although Senator Joe McCarthy was a drunk charlatan, it turns out Moscow really did possess a vast network of spies in 1940s America..." he is spot on with other aspects of this issue.

Joe McCarthy was an American Hero who gave his life for his cause, which was to highlight the fact that the "Red Scare" was nothing of what that title implied, but that communists had infiltrated all levels of our government and even the military in some areas...but all that is for another thread.)

Here are some excerpts from the article for the "She wasn't guilty" crowd (Gay State Conservative, I don't get the impression you are one of those, I understood you to be expressing what you have heard, which is expected in this):

From the article:
Several VENONA messages reveal important facts about Ethel Rosenberg. Number 1657, sent from the KGB’s New York residency to the Center (i.e, HQ) in Moscow on November 27, 1944, is worth citing in detail:

This KGB report establishes that Ethel Rosenberg was a trusted person as far as the Kremlin was concerned, a Communist Party member who was aware of her husband’s secret work for Soviet intelligence, as well as the roles of other agents who were part of Julius’ spy network. Code-phrases such as being “devoted” and “well-developed politically” reveal that Ethel was a committed Stalinist in whom the Soviet secret police placed trust.

That Ethel’s role in Soviet espionage went beyond sympathy was revealed in Message 1340 from New York to Moscow, sent on September 21, 1944. It discusses the possible recruitment of a new American agent:

  1. To VIKTOR [i]:

Lately the development of new people [D% has been in progress]. LIBERAL [ii] recommended the wife of his wife’s brother, Ruth GREENGLASS, with a safe flat in view. She is 21 years old, a TOWNSWOMAN [GOROZhANKA] [iii], a GYMNAST [FIZKUL’TORNITsA] (iv) since 1942. She lives on STANTON ISTANTAUN] Street. LIBERAL and his wife recommend her as an intelligent and clever girl.

    Comments:

    [i] VIKTOR: Lt. Gen. P. M. FITIN.

    [ii] LIBERAL: Julius ROSENBERG.

    [iii] GOROZhANKA: American citizen.

[iv] FIZKULITURNITsA: Probably a Member of the Young Communist League.

He we learn Ethel was a such a willing and witting member of the Soviet espionage apparat in mid-1940s America that she was setting up her own sister-in-law as a candidate for recruitment by the KGB. The observation that Ruth Greenglass had a “safe” flat indicates they had clandestine work in mind for her.

Moreover, it’s impossible to believe that Ethel was wholly unaware of what Julius was up to. As the head of his own Soviet agent network for years, Julius was recruiting and running spies for Moscow, several of them relatives and friends whom Ethel knew well. Julius had spy equipment such as cameras provided by the KGB to facilitate his espionage (see Message 1600, November 14, 1944, which discusses some of the clandestine tradecraft that Julius used). Ethel was a clever woman and it’s far-fetched to think she never noticed her husband photographing thousands of pages of classified U.S. materials in their not overly large apartment.

I would defy anyone reading these internal KGB communications to regard Ethel Rosenberg as an "innocent" and her conviction and execution as unjust.
