The newest supposed scandal the media are ginning up against the Trump administration concerns documents that AP obtained regarding the CDC recommendations for re-opening America. As written, the AP implies that the Trump administration is ignoring or manipulating expert advice, thereby putting Americans at risk. The article misses the fact that the CDC, aside from having been amazingly and consistently wrong about the Wuhan virus, is a blinkered bureaucratic agency that looks only at its own goals without reference or concern for other issues. It also forgets that the CDC is an advisory agency for Trump, not Trump's boss.
The AP’s headline sets the tone: “Top White House officials buried CDC report.” The first paragraph follows through on that grim note:
The decision to shelve detailed advice from the nation’s top disease control experts for re-opening communities during the coronavirus pandemic came from the highest levels of the White House, according to internal government emails obtained by The Associated Press.
Obviously, the White House is very bad to ignore the deep thinkers at the CDC.
However, even the AP’s article doesn’t match the sales pitch. It shows only that the bureaucrats came up with a detailed plan and that the boss – for the CDC works for the executive branch, not vice versa – fast-tracked the good parts and ditched the bad ones:
The files also show that after the AP reported Thursday that the guidance document had been buried, the Trump administration ordered key parts of it to be fast-tracked for approval.
The AP then goes for the heartstrings, telling readers that those poor bureaucrats saw their bureaucratic efforts “quashed by political appointees with little explanation.” Cue the world’s smallest violin.

At this point, testing has no purpose other than to count cases. That is, it wont help people recover, nor will it prevent people from getting sick. Contact tracing and other fundamental infection control measures sounds remarking like tracking every American and continuing a perpetual lockdown.
The Trump administration, meanwhile, understands that the country needs to get to work again. A full-blown depression, complete with stress-related diseases, suicide, substance abuse, and crime, will kill more people than the Wuhan virus ever could. While the CDC is focusing on one narrow issue, the Trump administration is looking at the big picture.
In an interview with one Heritage Foundation statistician I heard on the radio via the Kevin McCulloagh show, I learned that:
* The USA has a little over 3,000 counties
* Of these counties, 52% have ZERO Covid-19 cases
* Another 14% have had one Covid-19 case, all recovered
* Another 14% have had two Covid-19 cases,all recovered
* A third of cases and deaths in the USA are found in New York City and surrounding suburbs plus New Jersey, a significant number of them clustered in Nursing Homes and Poorer areas of the states.
* Latest antibody tests shows that about 25% of New Yorkers have the Coronavirus antibodies with 43% in the poorer area of the Bronx already having the antibodies.
As the noose tightens on the coup plotters, it will be a scandal a minute from here on out.
Its gonna get wacky and weird.
sounds remarking like tracking every American and continuing a perpetual lockdown.
Good point and EXACTLY the message and plan, at least until they unseat Trump.
UNKO the media constantly blames Trump for whatever he does. Did anyone of them EVER see any other president personally take charge of such a national security concern. Probably not since George Washington went out and put down the Whiskey Rebellion. Direction by proxy to avoid blame is not an option here.
If this is a free nation many politicians have gone way to far. While CDC and other knowledgable organisations should make their suggestions it should be the individuals choice as which ones to follow. Unfortunately the USA has numerous uncouth individuals. They will choose not to follow recomendations. But worse yet these anul orifices will violate the space of those trying to follow these suggestions intentionally.
and you wonder why the President no longer believes the CDC.
. I stopped reading as soon as I saw this. The only understanding I get from AP articles is how it is possible that half the country thinks that President Trump is terrible. Everything this half believes is based on slanted, biased, cherry picked etc so-called information.
Typical journalisps. A bunch of limp-wristed fags that never had the testicular fortitude to make a decision. Leaders, real men, begin with a concrete goal in mind. They take input from experts and other sources, analyze the input, and formulate several plans intended to meet the goal. Then they evaluate the pros and cons of the options. At this point a decision is made. Then they stand by it.
Experts are a small part of the decision making process. They are influencers. They are not principals in the decision making process, although they often think they are. But most leaders allow them to think so to keep the experts happy.
A Journalisp's greatest decision in life is choosing which words to use to bash Trump and his deplorables. They are not real men for they produce nothing in their lives on their own. They have no real world experience and don't take risks to better their life's circumstances. They work and live among others that think the same way which eliminates any risk associated with the drivel that they write. And as for the female journalists, they are not ladies.
If the CDC “guidelines” offered were anything like the earlier CDC “projections”, then Trump was right to deep-six them.
Worse than trash, they would have turned out to be sadly misinformed.
So the root of the story is that Trump aske them for guidelines. They gave them. He didn’t like them so he sh#tcanned them. End of story. He is not bound by their memos.
Supposed Scandal = Garbage News
TDS
On the MSN and other web “news” items they buried the intelligence community scandal leading to Flynn’s release and are pushing this BS story instead.
The idiot Fauci (remember he said twice in emails he loves Hillary Clinton so much) actually said the shelter in place plans should go on 12-18 months longer (and 12-18 months or so before he enough people could have an effective vaccine given to them to make it safe again.)
By that time we’d communicate by two soup cans tied to a waxed string between us and trap food and heat it over wood fires. No thanks, Fauci.
Fauci is an idiot outside of his field of study. He is as clueless about the realities of life as a 3 year old. NO ONE has enough resources to shut the economy down for 12-18 months. The store shelves would be as bare as Venezuela and people would be starving on the streets because they had lost their homes. Millions of businesses would shutter their doors. Billions would die of starvation and exposure.

twerp soyporter: Following up on Jim's questions about getting back the economy - getting the economy started again: Does the president see the CDC guidelines as an obstacle to getting the country back up and running again? And if it does not see the CDC guidelines as an obstacle, why not release those guidelines to the public and also follow them as we move forward?
Super Kayleigh: So I assume you're talking about the guidelines that were widely reported about yesterday - about daycares and such? So I would ask you, you know - what's the definition of CDC guidelines? Is it something that the CDC director has actually seen?
I would endeavor to say - yes - is it something that a rogue CDC employee leaks to you guys? No, those aren't CDC guidelines - those are guidelines in draft form that a rogue employee has given you for whatever personal reason they've decided to do that.
Those guidelines are in the editing process. We want the American people to get as much information as they can possibly have at this time. That's why we have the phased re-opening guidelines - the data-driven guidelines.
Those CDC guidelines are going through an editing process, and when we have those, you guys will be the first to know.
