The wounded deputies were taken to a local hospital, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said in a tweet shortly before 8 p.m. The department’s tweet said the shooting happened “moments” earlier.
“They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers,” the tweet read.

Seems like more LEO’s are being shot in the line of duty thanks in part to many local, state and national politicians and media emboldening perps.
It will get worse thanks to those same politicians and media.
I had an assignment to tune up a boiler in a commercial laundry in Compton around 1973. I did not care for working there at that time. Not one bit.

My great uncle and great aunt lived for a while in Compton in the 50s. But like so many things, it has changed greatly and not for the better. I remember riding the P.E. (Red Car) from Long Beach to L.A. by myself as a kid with no problems. No one bothered anybody, yet we’re told that the 50s were a terrible time.
Mascot for Compton High School is the “Tarbabes”, really.

I have not been a ‘fan’ of the police for a long time, for a number or reasons.
All the recent craziness has made me reconsider my views.
Have decided as bad as it is to have police around, it is much worse when there are NO police around.
Prayers for those officers.

Surveillance video released by LASD and broadcast (by permission) by KTTV, Fox-owned station in LA. Suspect walked up and opened fire at close range. Gunman appears to be short; if deputies (one male, one female) were talking, or “heads down” at the time, they likely never saw the suspect approaching.
