Initial ratings show the woke NFL saw a nearly 30 percent decrease in viewership during the first prime-time Sunday game of the season on NBC.

In my family from as long as I can remember the Giants were more religion than sport team. The first game my parents took me to was so long ago the Giants wore red unis, not blue. So yeah I still watched them this past Monday. But the rest of the games... nada.
There are still quite a few viewers: sheeple, drones, brain-numb losers, anti-Americans, racists and liberal weaklings. What a pathetic crowd.
Instead of watching the Seahawks opener, I just watched the highlights on the local TV station’s website.
I got to see all the “important” plays, commercial free in a couple minutes.
It left me with a question to myself: “Why haven’t I been doing this all along?”
It is a first step at least...
I’m through with most major league sports. They aren’t sports any more. They are giant signs that say “Whitey Raciss”.
The last time the ratings tanked over kneeling the NFL justified it as election year, hurricane, anything but kneeling. Now in 2020 the kneeling has evolved into a formal NFL sanctioned ‘you fans are all racists!’ ‘virtue signal-palooza’. Ratings tanked worse than before and predictably the excuses will be ‘protests ... election ... pandemic ...’ Anything but calling all the fans irredeemable racist scum.
Same. My enthusiasm is at about zero for my Eagles but my mom is 87 years old and we've all watched the games together as a family since the mid '80s (before that the Eagles were always blacked out on TV, they were terrible). It's really important to her and I can't take that away from her, especially since were finally able to actually get together as a family for the first time in months. But at least my entire family only counts as one viewer and I watch no other games and will not.
There's no such thing. Data, such as the current dip in a single game's viewership ratings, is collected by companies such as Nielsen, who install TV meters in folks' homes or who make regular random polling phone calls to measure viewership of any TV show or shows.
So, in short, unless you are polled by phone, have a meter or any other kind of TV measurement in your home, no one knows what the heck you're watching.
So, I intend to watch all games with delight. What I won't do, and what I urge others to do, is not buy tickets to the games, don't buy team merchandise...or do any other boycott you can think of to make your feelings known to the NFL management, team owners and unpatriotic team players. Hit them in the pocketbook instead of with empty words about not watching the games, words which, unfortunately, signify nothing.
The other day I looked for the usual NFL thread to see if the the Bucs or Patriot players kneeled or anything before the game, but there was no thread, just a thread filled with bickering and false information. I was so disappointed, it was a great game.
I hope Jim Rob allows NFL threads....I hope some Freeper starts them.....and I hope the posters leave the politics out of their comments...and then we can enjoy ourselves watching a sport we love and then discussing it on FR.
LET'S NOT KNEEL to those who are cleverly steering us from ANY TV programs we want to watch.....including sports games we want to freely watch without being accused of aiding and abetting !.
I intend to watch every NFL game I can....knowing my watching has NO EFFECT on ratings, one way or the other.
I won't let false information take that away from me. I hope my fellow freepers agree

Nah. Advertisers are in cahoots with the #bm/pantyfa assclowns as well.
And don't kid yourself, if you have a cable set top box then the cable company knows what channels you tune into it. They don't really rely on mailing people little notebooks anymore.
Most people get their TV through cable or satellite.Ten bucks...or maybe even twenty bucks...says that cable and satellite companies have ways of reporting how many were tuned to a particular channel at a given time.So that would mean that a meter or a pone call isn't necessary.
I hope Jim Rob allows NFL threads...
I think it would be wrong for him to ban/delete them...and I doubt he would. But it would be equally wrong for him to prevent folks from posting civil criticisms.
I believe the amount the NFL receives under the current contract is directly tied to the ratings generated.
No bet necessary, DVR data is absolutely sent to Nielsen and has become one of their most important metrics. They even break it down into those watching live, those watching within three days of a program airing, and within seven days. So, you can watch football if you like, but dont kid yourself that you arent helping the NFLunless youre watching OTA, of course.
Los Angeles was the heavy favorite until Coach Rivers blasted Trump and called him a racist. Rivers should work on improving his coaching and leadership skills if he wants to be a champion. His comments on social justice should be kept to himself. As of now, hes just a pathetic choker! lol
I'm ecstatic that the Nuggets won last night! The Clippers played thug ball against the Mavericks. On several occasions, a Clippers player tried to injure Luka Doncic. No discipline came down against Marcus Morris from the NBA, despite his history of dirty play.
Doncic is too good to play for Mark Cuban.
“who make regular random polling phone calls’
I don’t answer if I don’t know whose number it is. And I don’t call back if it some sort of poll.
Every cable box is a meter.
That is what I have said. Packer country and they just won’t give it up.
