This year, Brooklyn resident Kabeer Malhotra requested an absentee ballot for the first time, hoping to avoid the perils of a voting booth during the coronavirus pandemic. But when he tore open his ballot on Monday, he found an alarming error: A return envelope with someone elses name printed on the front.
Malhotra wasnt alone. Numerous New Yorkers reported Monday that they had received mixed-up return envelopes, which could invalidate their votes if they tried to mail them in.

It’s not a nightmare if you show up in person to vote.
All part of the plan... these “issues” are not a mistake.
At some point, most Americans will realize that the only way to avoid fraud, incompetence and chaos and preserve confidence in elections is with in-person voting only, after pre-registration and valid ID
We are still a long way from that though. It will have to get very ugly first.
Good, send them to my house. I will correct their homework and forward it on
Seems to me this is being done on purpose AND they have the most incompetent people working in these offices where the ballots are put together and mailed out.
This is NO accident.
It must really be bad if WAPO is reporting on it..................
My vote is so important to me that I don’t trust it to the US Post Office.
Ahh, this was intentional.
Q: Who prints up a bunch of envelops and puts the wrong return address on them?
A: Someone who wants to change an election result.

Of course you are right and it's best that way.
I must add this. If they earlier had scowling big leather jacketed black men with their arms folded confronting and telling frail looking elderly voters to turn back, then....
bomb threats at key polling places, fires set, chanting and jeering mobs on the way to the sidewalk to get in, media reports contagious disease virus was confirmed and people who voted at ----- should contact health authorities immediately, police confirm shots fired. Or worse.
Was this in a reliably Republican district?
You didn't request an absentee ballot ahead of time? Too bad. You've just been disenfranchised.

They screw up even without trying. They will kill 15% of their own votes themselves. Ha ha and they have now confused their own voters.

Yep, vote in person on election day like your life depends on it because it might.
This was reported in so the dems will be able to cry fraud.
