Food Commodity Prices To Ease This Decade, Emissions To Rise, Says Report

Prices of major food commodities are expected to ease in the coming decade after a surge in the past year, helped by higher farm productivity and slowing demand from China, the U.N. food agency and the OECD said.

But emissions from agriculture are projected to climb, mostly from livestock production, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said in a report.

Agricultural commodity prices have surged since last year due to booming Chinese imports and tightening crop inventories, leading the FAO to forecast record costs in 2021 for food importers.

But prices of most main agricultural commodities should fall slightly in real terms in the decade ahead, reverting to a long-term trend of improving production meeting rising demand from a growing world population, the FAO and OECD said in their Agricultural Outlook 2021-2030 report on Monday.

Chinese demand would remain a driver of global agricultural markets, particularly for consumption of meat and fish, but rising at a slower pace than the past decade, the report said.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture were projected to increase by 4% over the next 10 years, with livestock accounting for more than 80% of the rise.

"Thus, additional policy effort will be needed for the agricultural sector to effectively contribute to the global reduction in GHG emissions...

Actually, the study is very valuable because it tells one what exactly is going to happen. ... like the opposite shall happen with regards to the food prices.

It was last reported climate change was wiping out farms so the nation is facing food shortages and higher prices. The msm needs to make up its mind which lie to tell.

Ease this decade? That’s a relief. Emissions? Who really gives two bull $hits?

Translation:

As CO2 levels approach an adequate level to support plant growth, prices of major food commodities are expected to ease in the coming decade. Thankfully, emissions from agriculture are projected to climb, mostly from livestock production. If this trend continues, we can look forward to an end of food scarcity everywhere. Keep munching that grass cows — we need you!

Ha! Nonsense, of course.

Remember toilet paper and hand sanitizer last year?

That's food in the future, one highly worries.

Marxist/Dem/progressive policies lead, inevitably to shortages, inflation, loss of freedoms and property, and despair.

And, it's beginning faster than one might have predicted.

Who gives a rip about “emissions”?

There is no, zero, naaaada proof that atmospheric CO2 concentration has anything to do with climate change.
This is what real scientists call a THEORY!

This is the biggest hoax in world history.

So, it’s time to put all of my money into Frozen Orange Juice Futures? ;)

Looked at my stock portfolio today as of 6/21. Still humming away, thanks to President Trump, though I’m expecting these Halcyon Days to end fairly soon. :(
