Bill Maher: ‘I am afraid of Trump on a very personal level’

Bill Maher says he’s scared of former President Trump “on a very personal level” and “what he would do” to the comedian if he were to win the 2024 White House race.

“I am afraid of Trump on a very personal level because I don’t think he likes me. I understand why,” the HBO “Real Time” host told Jake Tapper on Tuesday as part of a CNN primetime special. “And I don’t know what he would do in a second term.”

The comic and liberal commentator said after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, “I was afraid for my own wellbeing. I thought I could wind up in Guantanamo Bay. I think I still could.”

“He’s obsessed sometimes. I don’t know. He went on a tear for about eight months when he was president every time, he’d have a rally. I have a list three pages long of the things he’s called me,” he said of the 45th president.

Maher attributes much more importance to himself than is warranted by the facts. He is simply a tired comedian who gained traction during the Trump years by attacking the President. Now, Maher seems to be trying to resurrect has career by moving from the extreme left to the center. Do as he might, however, President Trump has much more important things on his agenda than coming after Maher. If Maher were candid, he would admit there is a greater likelihood of attack from the Left for straying from its orthodoxy than there is from President Trump. Frankly, I don’t believe the President spends any time at all thinking about Maher, even though Maher might wish he would do so.

Maher made his bones by being the most staunch of the Bill Clinton defenders during his Impeachment.

Maher’s ego greatly outstrips the reality of the situation.

Only three pages, the poor little whiny bitch. Wonder how many pages Trump could assemble with the MSM (including Maher) getting very personal with stabbing Trump.

Has Maher forgotten his vile impersonation of Trump with his daughter over nuking Denmark? The ghoul forfeits his right to be afraid of Trump forever.

Yeah Bill. Remember when Trump threw you into a federal gulag the last time he was in office? Totally rationale thinking there.

“I’m not thinking he’s going to become [Russian President Vladimir Putin] and start pushing people out windows,” Maher said, “but I’m not going to live on the 30th floor anywhere either.”

LOL - Two of the toughest people in the country are Bill Maher and Donald Trump. Both can dish it out - both can 'take it'. OK, that said, Maher's wrong on this - but if Trump ever decided to take away a free citizen's right to speak his mind - lots of MAGA folks would stand with him ... Holding our noses since he's a liberal - but definitely standing with Maher and with freedom of speech.

Maybe what Billy wants is a knee-level-level job.

The comic and liberal commentator said after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, “I was afraid for my own wellbeing. I thought I could wind up in Guantanamo Bay. I think I still could.”

Trump liked calling people out. He liked taking on the New York Times, even though they were horrible to him. Trump was less vindictive than his opponents and less repressive than other presidents. So this Guantanamo thing is ridiculous.

But a lot of people are wary of what Trump would do with another term. He turned out to be an unexpectedly good president, but they're afraid that he might turn out to be what they expect in a second term. He's been dwelling too much on the past and that makes them think he'll want to settle scores if he gets back in the White House.
