Michael Cohen: NYC Fraud Ruling Will Likely Lead to Trump Bankruptcy
Breitbart ^ | 09/26/2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 09/27/2023 5:21:39 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, predicted Tuesday on CNN’s “The Source” that the former president will likely be bankrupted by the damages awarded in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil suit after the judge found Trump is liable for fraud.

Judge Arthur Engoron found, “The former president and his company deceived banks, insurers, and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing.”

Anchor Kaitlan Collins said, “This is still going to trial. This is the judge saying the core of this investigation, it can stand. If he goes to trial and there is a judgment for $250 million, can he pay that or is he going to bankruptcy?”

maybe he should run as a Democrat.

Not a bad idea, actually. Damn near every “Republican” in Congress, most states, counties and cities do it.

Michael Cohen says a lot of things. Don’t recall much of it panning out.

I thought he was in jail?

This whole thing is stupid. People (like Trump, or like you and I) do not go to banks and say, “I’m worth $10B — can I get a loan?” Well, you can try that, but you won’t get a loan. Banks and other institutions have highly paid experts who assess your holdings. THEY decide how much you are worth and THEY choose to loan you money, or not. It just doesn’t seem like a fraud situation. But Democrat judges can see all kinds of things.

It goes hand in glove with the narrative that Trump is not really a billionaire at all and they'll prove it once they get his tax returns—as if your net worth is expressed on a tax return, but hey, why ruin the narrative the RAT supporters greedily guzzle? So here comes this latest assault of our institutions by way of a judge who is no judge but rather another persecution tool of the RAT ruling class. Naturally he supports the narrative and hands down a decree that Trump has indeed inflated his worth and, of course, needs to be punished. You can hear the RAT supporters burp especially loud after throwing that one back.

One of Trump's greatest weaknesses has been helping losers (like Cohen and Omarosa) try to build careers.

As crusty as Trump is, he has a good heart. Too bad his help is so unappreciated by some of the losers he has tried to help.

As the old adage goes, "No good deed goes unpunished." I can personally attest to the validity of this saying. And so can Trump.

And much smaller homes around it are $10-15-20-30 million? Trump knows real estate.

Trump borrowed money, then paid it all back.

Where is the fraud?

This cannot stand on appeal.

If Trump says a building is worth $10 mil, and the bank says it’s worth $1 mil and Trump sells the building for $6.8 mil, which party lied?

Valuing Mara Lago at $18M is ludicrous... this is probably the nicest piece of real estate in an area where residential properties sell in the nine-figure range. Not to mention there is a massive country club business attached to the property.

The State of Florida should petition the court for redress as such a valuation is far below the local property tax assessment value of the property.

It’s a ludicrous evaluation.

“Even if true, isn’t it a pretty common practice?”

The hideous stupidity of the premise is why the ruling will be set aside in a few days.

A person will sell an item for as much as he can get.

Walmart will sell an item for less than a store across the street. Should the police go into the store across the street and arrest the manager for fraud?

A bank will use other criteria than just the stated value of the asset to be held as collateral, such as credit rating, history of repayment, ability to repay the loan, etc.

Cohen’s winless streak on his Trump prognostications will remain intact. He must be close to 0 for 100 by now.

If they were unbiased, they would.

We’ll see.

This is the state that changed their rules, so DeSwampus could run for Prez, while being Gov....

Agreed. Just more propaganda. This isn’t out Trump being a fraudster. It’s about damaging his reputation with the voters. This entire situation is ridiculous.
