A shooter at Houston’s Lakewood Church was reportedly stopped by a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy working security at the church Sunday morning.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez responded to news of the shooting with an X post saying, “It is believed that a possible shooter is down, shot by one of our deputy’s on-scene. I’m enroute to the scene.”
Click2Houston reported the shooter allegedly opened fire in the church lobby. The outlet noted that witnesses indicated “the shooter was possibly a female.”

Yeah. Going to be about as “ female” as the Nashville school shooter was.

Whoa! Are these “witnesses” Biologists?
It hasn’t always been a church.
What stuck in my mind from that one (Whitechurch, TX) was the guy who *didn’t* stop the shooter because he got stuck trying to retrieve his small-of-back carry, being both in poor shape and unpracticed, and took the bad guy’s 12ga blast to the chest while still trying to fish it out.
‘Course that bought Mr. 357Mag enough time to make his one shot count.
(Yes, you can find the names; I’m intentionally not repeating them)
I think Osteen is a snake oil salesman. But he and his congregation have a right to feel safe and secure in their daily lives. Prayers for the injured.

“ I’ve never seen a church that has escalators.”
I’ve never seen a church that did not preach about sin and the need for repentance, until now.”
Perhaps this just the shooter’s way of living their best life now!
And will we be seeing a race baiting manifesto like Nashville? That’s what I’d like to know.
I’ll be praying for them.
That is far from being a church.
It was formerly called The Compaq Center and the Summit before that.
That’s just weird.
Regardless of the nature of the venue or the doctrines of the “church”, a successful defense against murder(s) is good news and worth celebrating.

That’s how it should be.
How about an award parallel to the Darwin Awards, which is the Sack of Potatoes award for criminals who are justifiably made lights out during the commission of a violent crime in which ordinary citizens would be authorized to use deadly force. I nominate that church shooter dude for this award.
The man who shot the church shooter was a firearms instructor.
True, but still a civilian...
