Newly released video shows the 16-year-old nonbinary student who died the day after a fight in an Oklahoma high school bathroom recounting the events leading up to the brawl to a cop — who said the teen “essentially started it.”
Nex Benedict appeared conscious and alert in the police bodycam footage as they sat in a hospital bed during police questioning after their bullies allegedly bashed their head against the floor.
The sophomore and their mother told an Owasso school course officer that a group of girls that had been “antagonizing” them in the days before had been picking on Nex and their friends over the way they dressed.

Probably not a good idea to start a fight with 3 people by throwing water on them if you can’t take on 3 people.
If Nex was a biological male, there may have been an assumption that biological maleness may make up for there being 3 non-biological males on the other side
I have read that head injury wasnot the cause,but it seems too soon for an autopsy to be finished. Overdose, suicide, ormaybe head injury after all? Curled up fingers seems like a neurological effect.
No, born girl, XX, declares herself non-binary. Mother still says “she” and apologizes for not saying “they.”

NYP used to be a reasonable alternative to NYT. Apparently, not anymore.
Anyone with basic grammar skills and sanity would read the above and think the police were sitting in a hospital bed.
But we are being programmed to accept a new LGBT-friendly language.
NYP, the author, and the editor are all more mentally deranged than the deceased.

She didnt die from a head injury. reading is important.
She was born female and looked like one too, before she succumbed to the gender-identity mind virus.
She wasn’t trying to “pass” as either sex, she believed that she was neither sex. Neutral. That’s what non-binary means in the context of the current madness.
But she was born a girl named Dagny Benedict, and she was definitely in the right bathroom.
Perv dude attacked some girls in the girls toilet? They never do seem to say what he or she had in the way of personal plumbing. Kid seems fine after the fight in the toilet. No toxicology report that I saw.Possible drug overdose?

This entire story treats this mentally ill person as normal. Girls don’t want a guy with his package in the girls bathroom

Years ago the prevailing view for care givers was not to buy into the demented person’s fantasy. Supporting it makes it never go away.

If this person was murdered, that is horrible and evil tragedy. However, this story makes no sense - a testament to the reality of language and how corrupting it like this doesn’t work. There is no such thing as “nonbinary”, they, their, they’re are plural, not singular...makes it sounds like bullies were bashing their own heads.
I am not a doctor, but remember that Liam Neeson’s wife, Natasha Richardson, died after bumping her head while skiing. She seemed fine, until she wasn’t. The couldn’t get her to a hospital that could treat her in time, Quebec at the time (2009), having no medical helicopters.
I would hope that the hospital that Dagny went to throughly checked her out; if she died from the assault in the bathroom the girls who attacked her are going to have some legal problems. It is being speculated that she died from something other than the beating.
