Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may be positioning himself to jump back into the 2024 Republican presidential primary should former President Donald Trump — the presumptive nominee — be forced out of the race. Over the past several weeks, DeSantis has held several events nationwide supporting an Article V constitutional convention to institute term limits. Additionally, the Florida Governor has renewed his attacks on Trump and continued to blame conservative media for the collapse of his presidential primary bid in January.
The DeSantis presidential campaign has continued to hold delegate calls and huddles with political allies, even after the primary bid was suspended following his loss in Iowa in January. According to Politico, a political operative who has been privy to the calls believes DeSantis is still trying to present himself as an alternative to Trump and would reenter the race should the former President face a felony conviction.
“I believe everything you’re seeing is part of a concerted effort by DeSantis world to keep the door open in the event that something in the race changes in the coming weeks that takes Trump out — like a criminal conviction and jail or prison sentence,” the operative allegedly claimed.
Oh, NOW we believe Politico?
I was a bit surprised to see DeSantis still on the primary ballot in Michigan today.
Trigger time for the RDS haters……
:^)
Any story from the National Repulse regarding DeSantis is full of slander. Even with DeSantis out of the race they keep trying to resurrect his campaign, so they can trash him once more time. Makes one wonder if they have a contract to write negative stories about him.
Ahhh, you don’t know what the potshots were either then. I’m not surprised, since the article was simply a potshot at DeSantis.
Where’s the link I requested from your claim that Florida had lost half of its jobs? ( http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4219030/posts - Post #14/15). I looked but could not find anything to support your assertion.
“Don’t believe everything you read on the internet” still holds true, no matter who you support. This article is an opinion piece at best, propaganda at worst. Nothing in it has anything referenced to back up the writer’s claims.
The National Pulse is completely pro-Trump (no surprise there, since it’s connected to Steve Bannon). William Upton is a Trump administration alumni from the US Treasury Public Affairs department, and his list of articles at http://muckrack.com/william-upton/articles. Most of what he writes is pro-Trump; the rest is anti-Biden along with some current event articles. He’s basically waiting for another chance to work for the Trump administration, so a sinister-sounding story about Trump’s main rival will keep him in Trump’s good graces.
I fear an elimination of the Second Amendment and severe
restrictions on the first. Who knows what else will take
place. Constitutional guarantees of abortion rights for
women weighs heavily.
Now I’ve been assured this can’t happen. I’ll have to
say I do not trust anything procedural these days.
I guess that’s what he has to do since he is a mere shadow of what he used to be.
Still livin’ rent free in yer head ...
They'll just grandfather in our Second Amendment. Eventually, they'll make it too difficult for young people to buy new firearms.
Baby Boomers? They can keep them. But it's against the law to pass them on to anyone in the family in the will.
The Left is playing the Long Game. They're patient. This country will end up becoming like the Soviet Union in 20 years.
So he’s laying the groundwork to be ready to fight Haley if Trump gets knocked out?
It all depends on how he does it. As long as he isn’t taking potshots or undermining Trump, that would be a good thing.
It’s well on its way.
It’s morning in America. Time to wake up, Mr. Upton.
Sure he is - now please go away.
And Deep State runs De Santis...
Bull shit.
A ConCon is no more dangerous than Congress getting together to bring up constitutional amendments. The difference is the states will reinforce state’s rights, reduce Federal powers and bring things up that Congress never will.
The Powers That Be like unrestricted Federal power and don’t want state governments, that are largely more Republican and conservative to assert their Articles 5 power and are throwing up smoke screens to keep Conservatives and Republicans from supporting it.
They’re being put out by the governor’s office.
