Two Russian warships hit by Storm Shadow missiles as dramatic vid shows massive Ukrainian strike on Crimea

Enormous infernos ripped through the night sky in the occupied port city of Sevastopol.

And as dawn broke this morning, Ukrainian forces announced they had hit two large Russian warships- Yamal and Azov.

Both damaged vessels are Ropucha-class landing ships, 370ft long, 4,000 ton behemoths designed for D-Day-style amphibious assaults.

Ukraine has attacked this type of ship before - sinking sister ships Tsezar Kunikov and Novocherkassk.

Kyiv is reported to have used British Storm Shadow missiles in the strike - 600mph long-range weapons which have proved effective against the Russians.

Putin's crony in Crimea, Mikhail Razvozhaev, was forced to admit the Russian military fought off Ukrainian rockets in a "massive attack" on Saturday.

Local reports said the barrage had also targeted the Belbek military airfield - home to Putin's prized fighter jet fleet.

Ukraine's daring hit comes as the latest embarrassment to embattled Putin's war effort - possibly striking land, air and sea via Putin's Black Sea Fleet comms centre.

The centre of the naval port was left "on fire", according to witnesses.

A Crimea Telegram channel said: "The missiles arrived at the main special communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet".

Ukrainian missiles have also reportedly hit several buildings in the occupied region...

Ukraine has had great success chipping away at Vlad's prized Black Sea Fleet, and in September they used the missiles along with explosive-packed drone boats to damage two key Russian ships...

—” Can someone explain to me how this ISN’T a prelude to WWIII?”

Every step you take has been declared as against Russia.

“There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others”
Niccolò Machiavelli, my guide star.

“Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum”, in English: “If You Want Peace, Prepare For War.”
Not a new concept.

“Fortress America” is a myth.

Closer to 1/4.

So tired of hyperbole by both Ukrainians and Russians.

What’s an open frame warship?

I’m very much an Army rotary guy and landed on exactly one Naval asset, anchored in a harbor, during my career. And I didn’t like it.

On Russian paper the 57 is better than the 35, it’s obvious even the number is higher😂

Closer to 1/4.

My correction was "Okay, almost half of the larger Russian warships are gone! "

I wouldn't try. Escalation, and obviously actual involvement of NATO, is unmistakable. Immediately afterward the propagandists are sent out to brag and claim no NATO involvement.

Escalation invites more escalation

Maybe Putin should have thought of that before he illegally invaded a sovereign country without any provocation

Ukraine's isn't giving up, Putin needs to go home before he suffers more embarrassing defeats

Two Russian ships hit by British missiles. Can someone explain to me how this ISN’T a prelude to WWIII?

We're creeping closer.

Putin is showing tremendous restraint.

One of the targets of the Russian “Daggers” tonight was a military airfield in the Lviv region , where preparations for receiving F-16 fighters were completed.

According to preliminary information, the object is now unsuitable for use by Western aviation.

Everything you say is correct. But I’m so tired of our country’s collusion in the destruction of other countries, and other countries ripping us off, that I couldn’t care less if Ukraine and Russia nuke each other into oblivion. I dread the eventual comeuppance our country will eventually also suffer. There are so many in the world that desire our destruction...including many in America...that I’m afraid we we won’t be able to defend ourselves. Sorry to be so negative, but that’s the position I’ve slowly circled around to. I can only pray for my children and their families because I am utterly helpless to protect them (outside of trying to ensure I leave them a modest fortune to spend wisely should they desire to “escape” to someplace).

Putin is showing tremendous restraint.

By not doing what? Putin is firing inaccurate missiles against Ukrainian cities in a terror campaign against civilians. Attacking NATO? His army/airforce and navy would be obliterated.

You’re dreaming.

NATO does not have the military assets, aside from ICBMs.
