USPS going off the rails in Georgia: Incompetence reigns supreme as ‘consolidations’ take hold in multiple locations

Our 15-year-old son Noah is a baseball player. Baseball gear today can be quite expensive. A new (and sometimes even used!) quality bat or glove alone can easily cost several hundred dollars. For many years now, we’ve used Christmas and Noah’s birthday to provide him with a new bat or glove based on what he most wants or needs. If it’s not gift-giving time and Noah wants an expensive baseball item, he typically either waits or uses his own money (maybe with a little help from us) to purchase the item. If it’s the latter, Noah will often look for used gear. This was the case recently.

In February, Noah found a used bat on Facebook Marketplace that he wanted to purchase. The bat was just north of $100 with taxes and fees. He used his own money to purchase the bat. The seller was in our state (Georgia) but was several hours away, so we chose to have the bat shipped. What a mistake!

The bat was scheduled to arrive on February 26. As of this writing, now over five weeks later, the bat still has not arrived. This would not be much of a story if ours was an isolated incident, but this is far from the case.

After filing a “missing mail search request” on March 1, a few days later, I began wondering if our package delay was indeed an isolated incident. I began a simple internet search and quickly discovered that many others in Georgia were also experiencing missing mail. I started seeing several news stories of missing mail and problems with a new Atlanta-area mail distribution center in Palmetto, Georgia.

It’s no better in parts of Texas.. About 10-12 packages in the last three months. Post Office lost two of them.

Sometimes USPS will bring a package to my house if it won’t fit in the mailbox.

No more uniformed personnel with a mail truck.

Delivery vehicle can be anything from a junk KIA to a Mercedes. Sometimes there are a few people in the car. Packages everywhere. Driver gets out of the car wearing nasty sweatpants, tank top and a pair of sandals.

If you were not aware of this new delivery protocol, you’d think it was going to be a robbery.

Our Founding Fathers were very intent in giving powers to State and local. To have competition.

Except the Post Office, which is a power reserved for the Unites States Government by the Constitution.

In Georgia, they’re the 30%. In Atlanta, +50%.

Government workers with no accountability.
I tell vendors to ship my purchases via UPS.
If only USPS is available, I cancel the purchase.

It took two weeks for a letter sent by my employer 10 miles away to reach me. Here, mail is sent by the local distribution center 100 miles north to St. Louis and then back to the same distribution center to then go to the city post office which gives it to the local carrier for delivery.

This usually eats up two or three days, but in the case of my letter, for some reason it sat in St. Louis for 10 days.

But Indonesia is a civilized country. Unfortunately the USA still has sections which have never been civilized, about 13%, veritable jungles full of the sort of things one would expect to find in the jungle.

Everyday it seems I encounter a business, a system, an institution, a government agency incapable of performing its mission. The entire country is breaking down rapidly.

There is a problem with the current labor supply.

There isn’t enough of it and many capitalists are too stupid to utilize what is there.

Well, even here in USA, in a geographic area where demographics are not a problem, USPS Mail works fine.

I live SE of Reno.

WE have a perfectly good sorting facility in RENO-—

Reno has doubled in less than 10 years. Will not be stopping.

I live rural, but I pay my bills every month & send out the checks on SS day.

The USPS is talking about a NEW 40 MILLION “MODERN” Sorting center-——IN SACRAMENTO !!!!!!

Every piece of mail I send will be SENT TO SACRAMENTO ‘TO BE SORTED” & brought back to RENO area businesses.

APPARENTLY USPS did NO research about the condition of I-80 between Reno & Sacramento about 4 months of the year.

SNOW can block that highway for DAYS——and there is no other option.

So-—CLOSE down RENO-—TRUCK everything to SACTO-—and then truck it back.

HOW many days this will take is anybody’s guess-—but delayed mail-—INCLUDING MAIL IN BALLOTS-——will be a problem.

Late fees & dings on a person’s credit will result.

ALSO-—EVERY TIME another “handling’ happens-—problems can happen. Missing stuff too common right now.

ALSO——EMPLOYEES who currently work in RENO:
Are they supposed to MOVE to CALIF???

MUCH higher property costs
MUSH HIGHER Property TAXES
MUCH HIGHER COST OF LIVING in GENERAL
KIDS FORCED TO CHANGE SCHOOLS
HUSBANDS/WIVES—2 jobs in family—CHAOS!!!!!

THIS IS A CLASS A FUSTER CLUCK

USPS HAS LOST IT’S EVER-LOVING MIND.

I needed to ship a SADDLE from Nevada to Wisconsin.

UPS wanted almost $200.

FED EX did it for less than $70. Arrived exactly when expected.

BIG SURPRISE for niece who is taking riding lessons.

I think what happens when they get heavy package traffic, say at East Point, they just throw all the unsorted stuff off to some other center on a truck just to get it out of their center and not ‘overload’. The packages then take a 3-4 day ping-pong trip there and comes back when they’re settled down

My guess is that the mail was swiped. Maybe even by the employees at the facility. Fulton county is one of the scummiest places on earth.

Maybe the postal workers don’t have enough time for their jobs because they are ramping up for mail in/absentee ballot fraud for the 2024 election

Don’t worry the Government will soon remedy the demographic problem, coming to every majority white area sooner than later.

THIS!!!!
Shipped a package from AL to SC...six hours away...using usps priority mail w/ tracking. 11 days later tracking still shows it at the sending post office. Went to the sending office & the clerk told me it wasn’t there (couldn’t be bothered to get off her stool to check!) & it was probably stuck in the black hole of atl. Filed a lost package complaint & actually had the SC receiving post office call to tell me it wasn’t there. Our tax dollars at work...NOT!!!!

Seems like everyone has their own story about something of value "lost" by the USPS, so here's mine. Two years ago my granddaughter visited us in Florida for Spring Training. In the process, she was given a cracked game used bat used by a star of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Since she came down here by plane I told her I would mail the bat to her home. I took it to the post office, got the postage and had it insured for collector's value and with tracking. Of course, the tracking stopped right after it left the Tampa sorting center. the Postmaster said, sorry, it looks like it got lost. Then they were unwilling to reimburse me for the value because I didn't have a receipt from the Rays..

The session I learned that day was that if I had anything of value to send, do not send by USPS. If that was my only option, do not insure it because the Postal Pirates only steal things of value if they are insured. I'm sure if it is not insured, they are not interested.

Yeah, just wait until election time. Talk about screw ups. This is why mail in voting should not be allowed.

The US postal system is now used for one purpose, and that purpose is to carry and deliver illegal, fraudulent, ballots for the election fraud perpetrated by the government on behalf of the ComDem Party.

Any actual mail or packages are now fair game for theft by their employees.

Yesterday I read an article about the USPS IG report on the massive new facility located in Richmond, Virginia. The report stated First Class Mail was delivered on time only 60+ percent of the time while nation-wide it was in the 80 percentile range. They found trailer/containers in the parking lot that were full of mail that had not been processed in over a month and mail laying around machines and on floors that employees never tried to pick up and process.

This is our new, corrupt, ComDem postal service.
