Parents opted out of vaccines for Louisiana’s kindergartners at the highest rate in at least a decade as several new bills to weaken vaccine requirements continue to advance in the Louisiana Legislature.
During the 2022-23 school year, about 2.3% of children entering school requested exemptions, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 0.1% of those were due to medical reasons.
That’s around double the year before, when 1.1% of kindergarten students requested nonmedical exemptions. From 2011 to 2017, the average exemption rate was around 0.75%.

“It’s a slippery slope,” said Dr. Mark Kline, physician in chief at Children’s Hospital New Orleans and an infectious disease specialist. “The higher the percentage of school-age children who are unvaccinated or under-vaccinated, the less herd immunity we have.”

Louisiana is already one of 15 states that allows for “philosophical” exemptions for any reason. Health experts worry that making it easier to opt out may push the state into outbreak territory. …Because vaccination has been baked into schooling for so long, the benefits of vaccination are not as apparent as they once were, when children were paralyzed by polio or killed by measles at higher rates. Childhood vaccinations prevent an estimated 4 million deaths yearly, according to the CDC.
Those who are most at risk when vaccination rates drop are infants too young to be vaccinated and people with weakened immune systems, for whom vaccination doesn’t work as well.
“If the vaccine drops continue, we’re going to get outbreaks,” said Tulane's Stoecker. “And kids are going to die. And maybe at that point, we’ll reconsider what our policy options are.”

This is about parents’ rights. To wit: if your kid is vaccinated against measles, why are you worried?
As for Stoecker from Tulane, we got his number:
“It’s great news that the vaccines are so effective. We don't have to vaccinate that many more people than 70% to get 70% of the population immune,” Stoecker said. “How do we get there?”
He thinks that the public will become more confident as more people get the vaccine. Also, as COVID cases surge this winter, more people will be personally affected by the virus and its potentially deadly consequences.
“As coronavirus deaths mount, and as we don’t see serious long-term consequences of vaccine, people’s calculations are going to change,” Stoecker said in the podcast. “Currently, people are dying from coronavirus at about one per minute in the United States. In the time that I’ve taken to answer your question right now, there will have been a couple of additional deaths. More and more people are going to know someone close to them who’s died due to coronavirus. Their calculation will change. It’s possible that there may be some risks of taking the vaccine. It’s likely that that there are some short-term adverse events. You’re going to have to balance that with the risk of the disease itself.”
Not to worry. Bill Gates will put all the vaccines he desires in their Lunchables.
The is no such thing as herd immunity. There is no immunity provided. “herd immunity” is a thought exercise with the intent of shaming people into getting a vaccine. The thought exercise requires a controlled population, meaning that there is no additional people added to the community.
What ‘vaccine’ are we talking about here in particular.

We have immune systems that work far better than that so-called *vaccine* which does NOT provide *herd immunity*.
They are playing a constant game of catch up as the virus mutates unpredictably and therefor they can only create the vax after the variant is out.
Not to mention that children are not all that affected by Covid.
What about all the illegals flooding the country who are not only not vaxxed for anything, but bring with them the very diseases our medical community wants to vax us against?
