Police say a task force investigating a multimillion-dollar gold heist at Pearson airport last year has arrested multiple people, laid 19 related charges and interrupted a "large quantity of firearms" intended for import into Canada in connection with the case.
Peel Regional Police announced the results of their year-long probe into the daring theft at a Wednesday morning news conference alongside a representative from the the U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau.
One of the men arrested, a 54-year-old man from Brampton, is an Air Canada employee. An arrest warrant has also been issued for another man who was also an employee of the airline at the time of the theft, police said.
Investigators said the involvement of the Air Canada employees was a key component of the heist.
ChiCom’s?
I went for a tour at the Canadian mint.
I saw what looked like actual planks of solid gold.
Half inch thick, six inches wide, many feet long. On shelves. This by memory, from twenty years ago. Actual numbers are approximate.
This through multiple thicknesses of bulletproof glass, but still an impressive sight.
That’s what I believe, unless they can otherwise produce the gold.
Inside job , D’oh
To buy weapons???
Where is the Gold? Probably disappeared into thin air as did the cash converted to gold when Madalyn Murray O’Hair and family were murdered by their atheist followers.
