House agitator Rep. Matt Gaetz is being primaried
MSNBC ^ | April 30 | By Clarissa-Jan Lim

Rep. Matt Gaetz, whose successful maneuvering to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy last year plunged House Republicans into chaos — and made the Florida Republican deeply unpopular among his GOP colleagues — is facing a primary challenger in his re-election bid.

Retired Navy aviator Aaron Dimmock filed to run against Gaetz just ahead of the deadline on Friday. According to The New York Times, the treasurer for Dimmock's campaign committee also works for American Patriots PAC, a McCarthy-aligned group that in 2022 helped elect Republicans who were aligned with the then-speaker's agenda.

Gaetz called Dimmock a “BLM supporting DEI instructor” and McCarthy’s “puppet” in a post on X on Monday.

“I’m excited to welcome Missouri-based DEI instructor Aaron Dimmock to the campaign," he told NBC News in a statement. "Aaron is not in Kansas City anymore. This is Trump Country. Our pronouns are USA and MAGA.” (Dimmock listed a Missouri driver’s license as his identification in his filing, per NBC News.)

In October, eight House Republicans, including ringleader Gaetz, joined Democrats in voting for a motion to vacate McCarthy's speakership. His ouster set off havoc among the House GOP as it scrambled for weeks to elect another speaker.

As NBC reported, four of the six House Republicans who voted for McCarthy's ouster and who are also up for re-election are now facing a primary fight: Reps. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, Bob Good of Virginia, Eli Crane of Arizona, and Gaetz.

Kevin McCarthy was/is a poison to regular US Citizens.
More important, who does Kevin McCarthy work for?

Oh, great. Porker Gaetz gets a challenger, but of course, it can't be a more principled conservative. It's gotta be a McCarthy knucklehead who will likely be at home with Speaker Johnson's Dem minority coalition. I'll be voting for Gaetz.

great... primary the ones we WANT TO KEEP.

The GOP party is useless.

This is why Trump should create a new MAGA party. He got 80 million votes- many, if not most, would join him.

The current GOP party has only about 35 million official members.

His new party would not be a third-party spoiler, it would be THE BIGGEST party, because even some democrats would join, seeing how insane their party has become. And also those Democrats and independents who are disillusioned- but believe the liberal media hype about how the evil GOP want to starve grandma and re-institute slavery.

LOL! Go ahead. The blob can run whoever they want against him in that district. He’s gonna get his ass handed to him. Gaetz is very popular there and accurately represents the views of his constituents.

Bit mealy-mouthed about his navy career. Says naval aviator to suggest Tom Cruise, when he flew a P-3 from a land base. A P3 is exposed to substantial risk, but an F/A-18 or even a helo would be sexier and might have sealed the deal.

Aaron Dimmock is a member of the new age gobbledygook group called “Radical Candor”

Light some incense, polish some crystals, and read the bios of the “Radical Candor” members here: https://www.radicalcandor.com/radical-candor-team/

That just shows how ignorant they are & how willing they are to just be the other party, because they at best mill always be the minority party, but most likely will become the use to exist party much like the Whig Party it finally replaced.

Gaetz represents the same Congressional District that Joe ("Morning Joe") Scarborough - a former Republican - represented.

Not surprised to hear that Gaetz is being challenged by a well funded Establishment RINO.

Locally, in a field of 5 primary candidates the most conservative candidate won and served one term.

The next election with a head to head with a more moderate Republican he lost.

You have the right attitude.
Just please be mindful of your wording.
You see, if you are useless, you cause no harm.
The bush league chamber of commerce worshiping republiCAN’Ts cause harm across the board.
That makes the GOP party a liability.

Nice smackdown by Gaetz.

In Maine there is a GOP primary election between the McCarthy/Johnson/Collins backed neo libral Austin Theriault and the Marine Mike Soboleski. The winner will face Nancy Pelosi’s butt boy Rep. Jared Golden in November.

Theriault has the money and got polite applause for his speech, 15% - 20% of the Delegates walked out on Collins’s speech, SOBOLESKI got a stand ovation at the Convention!

Re: "he lost"

Gaetz? Scarborough?

As far as I know, neither Gaetz or Scarborough ever lost a U.S. Congress election.
