NEW YORK (CNN) -- Passengers on board the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in rural Pennsylvania Tuesday apparently decided to attack the terrorists who had commandeered the plane, according to family members of one passenger.

Passenger Jeremy Glick, flying with his 2-month-old child Emerson, called his wife Liz and in-laws in New York on a cell phone to say the plane had been hijacked.

Can you imagine if there had been four initially inexplicable crashes of planes because the passengers on board all of them refused to be orderly and cooperative with terrorists?

Besides that, there are people on tv being interviewed and they are retelling these stories, between tears, of the last words from their loved ones. Nothing indicates that it was shot down, and nothing indicates that the story is fabricated.
Exactly. This is reported all over the place. I don’t mind distrust of our media, but all the evidence indicates these people were heroes, and they should be treated as such.

I hope I'm not known for spreading hearsay.

Nah, just don't let it happen again.

Dick Armey said on Tuesday afternoon on LIVE TELEVISION that the events surrounding the outcome of the crash in PA were CLASSIFIED.

>I would recommend everyone place a nice length of steel pipe in their car

A good 4 or 5 cell flashlight is more useful.

In this time of trial and tribulation, it helps to know that there are still MEN in America.

Heroes, one and all.

Congress needs to do award them a medal for their life-saving acts which ultimately cost them their lives.

I was on a train into Manhattan on Tuesday morning. A fellow behind me called out that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center, and as soon as our train was within sight of the WTC everyone looked out the coach windows to see smoke billowing from the first tower. The reason HE knew it is because the person with whom he was speaking, on his mobile phone, had been listening to the radio.

So I think your skepticism is unfounded. It would be possible to hear about this event virtually anywhere in the country since it was most likely reported live as it occurred.

Yes. That would be incredible. Especially once we found out why. I can understand why the other passengers didn't. They probably assumed that, like other hijackings, this one would wind up on a runway somewhere in cuba or something.

Another possible scenario, the passengers attacked the highjackers and the military shot it down. Its possible.

It's also possible that a UFO used it's phaser to bring down the plane, but, personally, I don't think so. You CT types are so predictable, I was wondering when you would show up.

This CNN version is very patriotic and brave. I hope the story of the AF splashing this flight disappears, don't you?

It doesn't.
Exactly. Now you understand my objection. Skepticism is fine, calling it contrived based on no evidence is not, IMHO.

I have often heard that the children of dead heros (soldiers, firefighters, police etc) usually avoid most of the problems often associated with growing up fatherless.

They hear so often from Mom, old friends and their relatives about their Dad the hero, who saved the lives.... (Hard to type thru tears).... that they feel Dad's presence all through their lives. This gives them such a standard to live up to.... I hope that it's true....

Something to consider.

You're right, I saw that interview when they spoke with the lady that was outside and saw the plane go down.

Please tell me more...

I vote on the heroes. It would be horrible if one of our pilots had to shoot down one of our own planes

Could be also the message of passenger attack on the hijackers was a veiled invitation to the USAF to do just that. I.e. the passengers were going to sacrifice themselves, so why not go down this way, and in an unpopulated wooded area which would preserve the most evidence from a crash.

Remember these passengers knew what was afoot in a way passengers in the other planes did not. Who would have imagined the plan until there were exemplars?

So true. We can well imagine the other plane's passengers thinking there'd be demands, negotiations, ransom, and never knowing that they were heading for a building.

I have seen interviews with family members who were speaking with these people on the phones. They have said the same things this article states happened. Are you saying they are all on television lying? What purpose could they possibly have for saying this? The people on the ground who were called knew about the attack on the WTC and would naturally tell them about it.
