Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?
KFSN TV 30 Fresno, CA ^ | 11-07-01 | Kevin Quinn

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

here is a link to a Washington Post story about another Fuqra member, and his peace loving actions

(Man Linked to Muslim Group Held in Va.)
A man from the Roanoke area was being held in federal detention yesterday on weapons charges after prosecutors linked him in court to what they said was a violent black Muslim group known as Al-Fuqra.

Thanks for this post. I heard a little bit of their gun practice on the radio this week. Sounded like Ft Ord used to when it ran live fire pracices!

First of all, we need to see how much money these Islamic terrorists have donated to Gray Davis. If they donated a million or so, he would leave them alone.

I'm sure that Davis and the current educational secretary made sure that they got the $1 million in Charter school funds and $5 million to come later!

Funding on a level like this does not happen by an accident. It has to be greased on the skids by someone like Davis and his criminals who are in charge of the state!

Why aren't the people of Calif all over this by now? As it's been said many times - it's time for the citizens of America to take some responsibility for our own safety... If we would all quit sitting back and waiting for "someone else" to protect us - we wouldn't have these problems...

perhaps it's time for a hunting trip?

"Today - right now - Americans and other NATO forces are placing their lives in extreme danger. Some have died, and more will die - all to protect each and every one of us. But know that it's also our individual responsibility for our own protection. We can not simple sit back and wait for somebody else to protect us - we must each be our own protector. This is not a war that only takes place 'somewhere else'. This war is right here - in every town, on every street. Like it or not, life as we knew it has changed - forever. Freedom is not Free - it never has been, and never will be. Please do not forget this as you go about your daily life - it's up to each and every one of us to show proper respect - and do our part."

I recall that when the Deputy was killed, the Fresno Bee had a quote from the authorities that it appeared the suspect had been trained in sniper shooting. As this happened before the attack on the US, it was not quite the red flag statement it has become now.
This is a place that need to be throughly investigated and NOW! Hopefully the local news coverage will prompt some concern in the minds of the public and the FBI to find out the truth about this training camp/school!
The news footage last night was chilling, and it left little doubt in my mind what is going on up there no matter how much the defense attorney tries to sugar coat it.

What??? This is unbelievable!

Believe it, I saw it last night on the news too. Incredible as it may seem. We must be careful you see what we say because the "suspect" might not get a fair trial!
The young Sheriff Deputy that he murdered left behind a child and an pregnant wife. He was once a neighbor of a friend of mine and I remember him when he was a little boy. He came from a wonderful family, and was a devoted Christian and family man.

I can't confirm it with documents, however I heard the same thing on our news. It seems FSU was the only California state college that was asked to list ALL of their foreign students. There was a story then that four had been found to be tied to known terrorists, but they didn't say from which college. You could draw the conclusion it was FSU because of the difference in the reporting required I suppose.

Did you see this report on the news last night? It was so frightening, and I feel like there is a supression of this going on for some reason. Thank God channel 30 decided to report this!
I think the report said the FBI was aware of this place, but I was thinking of reporting it to them anyway. Also someone suggested the INS because of the reports from neighbors hearing shots fired there all of the time. The explanation from them is that the shots are from "hunting." Take into account the statement that the suspect in the murder of the Deputy seemed to have "sniper training" and you wonder what they are "hunting" up there!

Does a nation this dumb deserve to prevail?

I really do not wish to answer that question and note that we have not yet prevailed so maybe we better stop being quite so stupid.
