What you say is waayy too moderate and reasoned for this board today. My God, why do people want to believe the worst when there is no evidence to support that at this time!!

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! The government is lying to us! Get a grip, people.

Not likely that this was terrorism. More likely that it was catastrophic engine failure

LOL!

Try telling that to the families of the dead.

New Yorkers can smell a con a mile away.

If your objective is to totally destroy commercial aviation, keep posting preposterous statements like that one!

Whoooooo!

On the contrary, unless you've had your head where it doesn't belong for the las few years, the government has lied and covered up (remember Waco, etc?)

Go back to sleep.

One simple reason: I've had it with bullsh*t. I don't DEAL in bullsh*t.

Why would terrorists blow up a plane full of Haitians when they had their choice of planes loaded with Americans?

But how do we know that the engine did not have help in failing catastrophically?

Thanks for that great post there, friend!

Let me share something withyou all here.

A buddy of mine sent me an e-mail about this crash. Here it is:

HERE WE GO AGAIN !!
BET ITS A SAM. . .SURE LOOKS LIKE IT TO ME !
I JUST DUMPED LOTS OF STOCK. . .
I sent him back an e-mail asking him to be more specific as to why he suspected a Surface to Air Missile. Here's his reply:

PLANE'S MOTOR CAME DOWN IN A BOAT AT A GAS STATION - MOTOR HAS A HOLE IN IT ---- NOT THE BOAT'S MOTOR. . .
Here’s his last note he sent me a little while ago:

NOW I'M PRETTY SURE - 3 IN 4 CHANCE IN MY OPINION .
JUST HEARD AN EYE-WITNESS SAY HE SAW A SMALL EXPLOSION KNOCK THE
WING OFF .. MEDIA CANT SAY IT'S A SAM FOR FEAR OF A PANIC !
I'M TALKIN JUST A SMALL HAND HELD SAM SHOT FROM ONE'S BACKYARD...

This is a bit scary, folks. Anybody else seeing this same thing??? I just have a hard time believing this is a deliberate act, but sure wanna know. Please RSVP. Thanks!

Practice? (And I'm not being flippant.)

Conversely, if this is an accident and the engine did fail on its own, how do we differntiate between sabotage and something like American buying cheapie counterfeit airplane parts, maybe Chinese-made for example.

I heard twenty eye witnesses this morning giving contemporaneous descriptions of whatr happened. Not one word about a SAM. Not even a hint.

Agree that this doesn't seem like an obvious target. I know the Koran paints a pretty broad brush, commanding muslims to kill all Jews and Christians, but this plane doesn't seem like a particularly high-value target for the raghead contingent, unless it was just a target-of-opportunity for some random islamo in the ground crew.

a terrorist has apparently succeded in checking a bomb aboard an airbus and killing 260+ people.

You're a hysterical idiot.

There is NO evidence that a bomb blew up that plane.

You can distrust the government all you want, but experienced airline people are all saying that catastrophic engine failure is likely, since these GE CF-6 engines have had problems for ten years.

Let me see if I have this right. Your e-mail buddy (who is not an eyewitness) is 75% sure it was a SAM, but NO EYEWITNESS reports seeing a SAM. Do you see a problem with this?

How many airliners have exploded due to these CF-6 engines? That's sort of the bottom line on the prior probability of that explanation, isn't it?
