I'm a graduate of Utah State University. I've done plenty of bitching about how inherently corrupt USU's administration is and the obscene percentage of the school's budget that goes into a football team whose record is routinely below .500.

College football is inherently corrupt. Nebraska isn't the only one. The system needs fundamental changes. But you've got to admit that Nebraska is infamous for its shenanigans and players that commit criminal acts.

There are NFL teams that refuse to draft Nebraska players because so many of them are discipline cases.

Good thing the Packers don't share this sentiment. Go Ahman Green!

Congratulations to Eric Crouch - a man who many can now legitimately argue is the best Nebraska QB ever.

The seahawks drafted Green not the Packers. Remember Lawrence Phillips?

Roll down your window and throw out that crack pipe.If corrupt is what you are looking for look in your own back yard first.

No its just when its Nebraska we get hammered because this is our only major national sport. No pro teams. I have seen Kansas,Texas,Colorado, all 3 Florida teams that have the same player problems but it barely makes a blip on the headlines.Heck Bobby Bowden would let a player play if he was charged with homicide. So your criticism while noted is unfair in the extreme.

I would have to say that Crouch was the WORST pure QUARTERBACK of them all.

I would agree. However, the award was not for the best pure QB. It was for the best player in college football. The case can easily be made that Crouch is more valuable to his team than any of the other for. He did rush for 1,115 yards and 18 TD's. Nebraska would be no where near #3 in the BCS without him.

And that's the fundamental problem with the NFL and, ultimately, society. There's a whole lot of people like you who claim to be politically conservative, but look the other way at criminal behavior if the guy can play ball well. Anything short of murder is totally excused.

Back a few years ago, it was revealed that Nebraska was awarding college degrees to ball players that literally couldn't read and write.

Prove it!

Since 1952, UNL has had more GTE Academic All-Americans than any other school in either university or college divisions.

Grossman was robbed.

He'll win it next year. Sophomores rarely win it, even if they deserve it.

Being from the inside of the Nebraska program (to some this puts my credibility in question, I understand) I believe it is a great program, perfect, No. No Competitive programs are! When you recruit young, aggressive, and capable men, guess what you get. Yes there are some infamous discipline problems. Not as an excuse, but name another large group of similar demographics who doesn't.
Some reminders, Nebraska leads the nation in Academic All-Americans
Nebraska and thier fans had the courage after the crimes of 9/11 to follow the lead of our Commander in Chief and try to get moving again the did and hit the Gridiron.

Also, those who are closest will be able to see local problems but not be able to see similar problems elsewhere.
BTW its just a game.....

Don't even get me started on BYU. They have their wonderful honor code that doesn't apply to football players unless their actions are public and can't be covered up.

I darn sure know that Green wasn't drafted by GB. It was the sentiment, which suggested that Nebraska players aren't NFL-worthy, which the Packers obviously disagree with. Ahman Green is a worthy role model, although another Husker and Packer, Tyrone Williams, had a run in with the law when he fired a gun into the back of a car.

If you think NFL teams should blackball Nebraska because of Lawrence Phillips, you're gonna be lonely. Phillips got bounced off the landscape so fast in the NFL his name is becoming a distant memory. Give the NFL more credit.

Well J.C. Watts played quarterback in the Candadian League and look where he ended up -- United States Congress -- not bad for someone who played in the "Canadian" Football League! Not every quarterback or player out of college is NFL material. The other year the Heisman winner went to the NY Knicks to play basketball!

Now you're way out of line. Name ONE crime Ahman Green has ever committed.

Hey, I am a Florida Gator, however, comparing Nebraska with the Clintoons is uncalled for! Have some class!

you made an erroneous statement and I corrected it. LP like it or not, put a black eye on the face of the Nebraska program. This isn't personal, I'm merely bringing up facts relevent to the discussion.

There's the ole Klinton defense. There's nothing there and nobody did anything. "Give me courtroom level proof. You weren't there, you couldn't possibly know. It's all lies spread by hateful jealous people. It's a vast PAC-10 conspiracy. Everybody's after us because they're jealous. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...."
