Michael Bloomberg, mayor elect of the City of New York, who switched from the democrapic party to the Republican Party soley to run for mayor, because he couldn't get the nomination running as a democrap.

You are correct. I lost my mind.

Now that I think about it, that's the best one. Bloomberg runs as a Republican just to avoid the Dem primary; he meets with Al Sharpton right after the election; pro gay-rights, anti 2A; anti death penalty; calls himself a liberal outright. There's absolutely NOTHING that qualifies him as a GOPer. Rudy should be ashamed.

Trent Lott, as Majority Leader in the Senate, had the Sworn responsibility to conduct a Senate Trial of Impeachment for W J Clinton, Impeached by the House. Fearful of his image, his ability to horse-trade in the future with Democrats in the Senate he felt more closely toward than his Party, constituants, Oath or Nation, he bartered away all his power to conduct a real trial.
Couple that with his actions in failing to use a Majority when he had it on virtually every single bill that came before the Senate, and you get the picture.
Now, to be true, a Senate Majority that has not enough votes for Cloture (60) is a pretty lame tool. But failure to even sharpen the tool is Lott's legacy.

Jeffords, hands down. He was a Republican In Name Only for a little bit this year, so I think that ought to qualify him.

Every conservative who has enrolled in the Republican Party. (If you're truely a conservative, then put your money where your mouth is and join the Conservative Party --as I have -- and stop trying to hijack the Republican Party.
To: KC_Conspirator
I agree with KC; Jeffords was indeed RINO.... and proved it.

I'd be obliged, Mr. Smith! Trent Lott is regarded in these parts as a Senator who finds it next to impossible to stand firm on principle when the rubber meets the road.
Case in point: during the conviction trial of President Clinton, Senator Lott allowed extremely constrictive rules that would in effect not allow the House Managers to present their case. No witnesses, etc.
He conspired to allow Clinton off without a real trial because he was desperately afraid of how the leftist elite would treat him. So I and many others blame Lott for Clinton being able to stay in office an extra two years and wreak untold havoc on our governmental system.

LOL, Cyber you're more sane with a "lost mind" than McInsane could ever hope to be!

Not in the same class as McCain, but I nominate for honorable mention Texas Governor Rick "Hate Crime" Perry.

You know, my Friend, you are right....Especially with the power of the super silly Reform Party these days!

Another wackjob; for the 1000th time, it's either the Republicans or the Democrats. There IS NO VIABLE THIRD CHOICE, VOTING 3RD PARTY JUST PUTS THE DEMS IN POWER. If you can't tell the diff between the Republicans and the Dems, maybe you should not be voting at all.....

But failure to even sharpen the tool is Lott's legacy.Sharpen it, indeed. He made sure any semblance of an edge was hammered so dull and useless that it couldn't cut butter if it was hot.
