But the problem here is that Israel sells our national secrets to third parties (i.e., Russia, China). If this isn't enough, at $3-5 billion in foreign aid per year, US taxpayers foot the bill for this spying.
Israel sells our national secrets to Russia and China??? What is your source of information?? Please show one article from a responsible news publication where that fact is stated. It is totally irresponsible to make such statements about an ally of the United States without direct knowledge.

I say that Congress needs to put US interests first -- for a change. If the US would pursue its legitimate interests in the Middle East, my guess is that the chances for real peace in the Middle East would increase immeasureably.
Your lack of knowledge about the Middle East and your understanding of what would bring real peace there is conspicous. The US is pursuing its legitimate interests in the Middle East by supporting Israel. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and is the only pro-American country in the Middle East. The amount of intelligence the US gets from Israel about the region is immensely important to the security of the United States. In any hostilities against the United States in that part of the world, the only country the US can count on as an ally would be Israel. The US gets plenty for its foreign aid. What does it get from Jordan and Egypt, which combined get more Foreign aid from the US than does Israel? The real chance for peace in the Middle East is a strong leader of the Palestinians who really wants peace. Yassir Arafat is not that man.

When was the last time we heard about "English" spies or even "French" spies?
Well, if you don't think there are English and French spies in this country, I have a bridge to sell you. Are you also going to tell me that you don't think we have spies in England, France and, oh yes, Israel. Every country spies on every other country, ally or not.

"Every country spies on every other country."

Yeah, and apparently Israel is the only one getting their hand caught in the cookie jar repeatedly then.

Plain and simple, they are exploiting the lack of security that goes along with having a "friendly" relationship vis a vis Israel and America.

BTW, I'll ask again -- when WAS the last time we heard about English spies, OR French for that matter in America?? It was more than a rhetorical question in case you or anyone else can answer it.

French 'spy' sent home from U.S. November 2, 2000 Web posted at: 2:33 PM EST (1933 GMT) PARIS, France -- A French military attache has been recalled home and re-assigned after becoming embroiled in a U.S. spying allegation. French army spokesman Brigadier-General Alain Raevel said the officer, Colonel Marc Wood, "had committed what we consider a blunder." He declined to comment on French press reports that Wood, a nuclear weapons specialist, had been accused of passing on confidential U.S. documents to India, which is seeking to create a nuclear deterrent despite U.S. efforts to halt proliferation. Raevel said Wood had been prevented from leaving French embassy premises in Washington for some time but the case was now settled with U.S. authorities. "Col. Wood had to be called back to France because of a blunder which he made and because of U.S. pressure," Raevel added. Asked how Wood, a Frenchman of "Anglo-Saxon origin", left the U.S., Raevel replied: "Well, he wasn't spirited out in a trunk. He left once the U.S. let him out." It is the latest in a string of espionage incidents between the U.S. and France. Several members of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency based in Paris under diplomatic cover were expelled several years ago after French authorities alleged they had been trying to recruit senior French Government officials to spy against France. Reuters contributed to this report. 'nuff said??

Dude, that Chosen People crap is so tired... If we adhere to that like mindless robots then why not just have Israel run our country for us. After all, we should be double-super blessed then wouldn't you say??? And everyone knows double-super blessed is the best kind of blessed there is!

The bottom line is, let's put America first!

Yes, that would be a good start! Hey, regardless of how much you like Clinton, which is likely to be at best 'not much', you'd have to admit that Robert Rubin did a pretty good job. Rubin is, you know, um.... And that Greenspan guy, who most people think has done a pretty good job, he's also, um, right...

OK, you can also find Jews who didn't do such a good job as well.

The bottom line is, let's put America first!

Absolutely. The question is, what serves America's interest best? Tell me, as much as the Arabs absolutely hate Israel, do you think they don't notice that in an area wihtout any oil at all they have one of the highest GDPs? Do you think that Israel's existence doesn't at all influence the other countries to move away from totalitarian dictatorship, and toward a more free, more stable and more prosperous life? Sure, they can quickly retort that Israel gets a ton of U.S. military aid, but let's face it, Egypt gets tons of aid as well and hasn't benefited economically.

You have the Jordanians aggressively moving toward a Western-style government, and even regimes like Syria and Saudi Arabia considering various reforms.

So yes, put America first. And that means, having a Middle Eastern policy roughly what it is today's.

I'm not sure how to respond to that, I started three times and each time I erased them and ended up with this.

I guess I'm just an isolationist at heart, close the borders, cut off all foreign aid, and expel all the illegals... I do resent it when people put their loyalty somewhere other than in America.

Hey, don't hold anything back, "Dude." Tell us how you really feel.

Yeah, right, that's the ticket. (Your hatred for your Creator is so deep that it clouds your logic.)

The bottom line is, let's put America first!

So, who wasn't putting America first? Your anti-Semitism is showing right through your nationalism (masquerading as patriotism).

You hate God, and you hate His people. Think about turning back, before it's too late.

Isolationism is a reasonable sentiment, but a foolish policy, and I'll leave it at that.

I don't HATE God. I don't HATE his SON. I love Them both, I believe in Them both.

What I don't believe is that some book, that may or may not be true should be our ONLY guide in instances as delicate as this. I suppose it's pretty easy to go around parroting "Those are HIS chosen people, love them, never criticize them, or you will go straight to HELL! (Dirty-filthy anti-semite!)" I prefer to evaluate things on a case by case basis. Rather than go around bleating "Four legs good, two legs bad." That may be an easy way to go through life, and if it works for you then great. You are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to mine.

Mine is that we (as a nation which I acknowlege was founded "under god") should be a little more ruthless. Ruthless and single minded in a way that shows ALL other nations that we are not to be trifled with. Show them that we are UNITED and that we will do WHATEVER it takes to protect OUR interests FIRST. If that means putting HIS chosen people second, then I say oh well. Because while YOU may believe that THEY are HIS chosen people, I MAY NOT. Or I may... Confusing isn't it???

Supposedly, Israelis intelligence gave secret information to the Russians so that the Russians would allow more Jews to immigrate to Russia. The Russsians used this information to close down some CIA operations world-wide and rid their ranks of some Russians who were spying for the Americans and American lives were lost. This spying turned out to be much more than "solely for their own protection". American lives were lost.
Notice how the CIA and FBI floated that theory at a time when a counter-espionage agent was working fo rthe Russians?
The CIA was blaiming Israel for acts of Aldrich Ames.

I consider what happened to the USS Liberty wicked, it's up to the survivors and their families to forgive the israeli's.
I suppose teh big bad American military meant to kill American, French, British, and Qatari soldiers during the Gulf War?
I suppose the US meant to kill some Northern Alliance and US Rangers a few days ago?
Crap happens in war.
The USS Liberty was placed in the middle of the Egyptian and Israeli navies by the CIA, after the US promised to withdraw ships from the region . If you want to blame someone, blame the CIA. Crap happens in war.

"Nuff said."

Not bad, but I'm still only 50% impressed...

But we still need the English version of a "spying scandal." Afterall, it is quite debatable whether or not France is actually considered a "friend" of the US.

Well, F16, my point is that ALL countries spy on all other countries, even allies. Just because there hasn't been a scandal with England and their spies doesn't mean there aren't any.

The term "spying" in a military or informational context connotes a concerted effort through subterfuge, stealth, or secrecy to steal or gather information that may be useful or helpful against an antagonistic first party.

With all due respect, I just don't see that same situation within the benevolent allied sphere of Canada/England/U.S...007 rooting around Washington? Naaah...

Homeland Gestapo

Are only Jewish allies arrested? By their own confession, all of NATO spys on America. Why not Russian spies: those are more numerous than ever before.
A General Accounting Office investigation referred to Israel as Country A and said, "According to a U.S. intelligence agency, the government of country A conducts the most aggressive espionage operation against the U.S. of any U.S. ally."
The new secret court and Homeland Security operates just like the old Soviet system. No evidence, just speculation. In this case, guilt is attributed for picking up on the attack and not dialing 911! So what? Are these people trying to cover their own incompetence by blaming someone else for "not telling us" when they were repeatedly warned over the last 5 years? Why should these civil servants not be punished?
they may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance and not shared it.

A highly placed investigator told Fox News there are "tie-ins," but when asked for details flatly refused to describe them. "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified, I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It is classified information," the source said.
Secret court, weak evidence, no charge: For such wickedness a Declaration of Independence was written.

Treasured allies don't withold information about terrorist plots. Nor do their agents videotape the WTC in flames and laugh and make mocking comments. Israel is no friend of the US. They're no better than the Taliban. I say nuke 'em.

According to the UBL tape, almost all of the hijackers didn't know the actual details of WTC attack until they were about to board the plane, but you still want to blame Israel for not giving a detailed, advanced warning to the USA.

Do you really beleive that the Jews are some kind of master race? If not, why the frothing, Taliban-type posts? If so, why not come right out and say it? Seems to me that you have no loyalty to your own country.
