I don't know if you have seen this video yet but it is well worth taking a look at. Note where the large CO2 emmissions are coming from. Its not the US.

I love it. Most definitely a great way to end the year. Perhaps other countries will scrap it too. < prays>

The Guardian will blow a gasket.

Either that or publish countless editorials bemoaning the resurgence of "unilateralism" in Japan.

WOW! That speaks for it's self. I wonder how the concetration built up in south america, was it blown in from China? I remember earlier in the year China's pollution made it over the Pacific and darkend our skies here in Minnesota for a few hot summer days.

I'm typing this from Shiogama, Japan (Northeast Honshu)where many here are dependent upon fishing. The Japanese I meet and work with (I am capt. of a factory trawler) are decidedly anti-green. Japan's economy is hurting and the last thing these people are going to do is help erect arbitrary barriers to economic recovery. These people eat whales, they are firmly opposed to the environmentalists. By the way, it's been a very cold winter here. Temps below avg. in the air and water. Lots of snow, too. No talk of global warming here.

Mmmmm...whale meat. Back in the 60's we used to buy it from Japan canned in BBQ sauce. I bet fresh is out of this world.

...European nations had collectively announced they would approve the treaty even without Washington's participation.

It'll be interesting to see the Euro-whiners wiggle out of this one. Dump it and face the wrath of the Watermelons (green on the outside, red on the inside); accept it and watch your nation's industry wither before your eyes. I'd say they're proverbially screwed.

The "Global Warming" crowd needs to set an example for us all - they need to limit their own CO2 production by ceasing to breath.

Let me get this straight, Japan is going to ratify the Kyoto accord and then ignore it's restrictions? I thought sepuku was tradition when one dishonored oneself. I was hoping Japan's economy would commit suicide. Oh well...

After all, they had Chernobyl, and regularly dumped nuclear waste into the ocean....

The Kyoto Treaty doesn't cover radioactive emissions.

Errr....uh...did you say 58 inches of snow in Buffalo????? I thought we are witnessing catastrophic events due to Bush's reckless anti Earth buddies??? < /sacracm>

Kyoto is nothing more than a bunch of whining jealous EuroWimps trying to stick it to the US.
