I tried with you, but you insist on changing the subject. Yesterday I got four loads of laundry done while you were dancing around the issue. Today I think I'll change the water in my aquarium. Have fun debating by yourself. Think of it as masturbation at your keyboard. Lots of people are into that; maybe you will finally find your calling.

As I asked you, should grandmas be exempt from the law?You are correct on this point. Grandmas are not exempt from the law.
Everyone should be treated equally under the law. I realize it doesn't bother you, Dane, but for the benefit of any lurkers out there consider this:
Under the proposition that everyone is (or should be) equal under the law, if the prospect of putting a 72 year old grandma in prison for 5 years over 4 ounces of pot doesn't seem right, then putting anyone in prison for 5 years over 4 ounces of pot isn't right, either.

You know, I hope you finally get the world you "envision".
Thanks pal. I hope that if I do, you learn to live in a world fraught with "monsters" - free men who live their lives unshackled from government overseers.
Heck, Ill even buy you a gun, if you think you can handle one.

No less an authority than Carl Sagan said that he performed his best, most creative work while smoking marijuana.I've heard this too. If he liked the creative enhancement of THC he should have tried LSD. (He probably did.)

Hey, buy me a gun! I can handle it.

re : Then she, like many of us, believes that the efforts being wasted on the WOD should be focused on protecting us all from violent criminals. Must be something wrong with her eh?.
In my borough Hackney in London, we have had a number of drug busting operations, that end up with the arrests of a few dealers here a few dealers there who are soon replaced so I am told.
A couple of weeks ago I saw some men break into the yard of the factory opposite my window, I phoned my local police station, after around ten minutes of a ringing tone someone finally answered it took around a further 30 to 40 mins for them to get a couple of cars around there.
They apologised and had a good excuse lack of police resources.
I applaud the police efforts in busting pill poppers, pot heads and clubbers, after all it is more important to get them of the street rather than those who just indulge in ordinary crime the type that involves a victim as well as a criminal.
Cheers Tony

Sorry, the offer is only valid for people who are afraid to own guns.
If somebody accepts, they are, by definition, disqualified.
It's got something to with "the syndicate" that we're all a part of.

Your big mistake was telling them there was a break in going on. You should have told them an 82 year old grandmother was out there selling pot - they would have been there in under two minutes. :-)

Carl Sagan, the new poster child for marijuana proponents on FR. The person who thought Ronald Reagan was the cause of all the troubles in the world. A charter member of the "blame America first" crowd.

LOL. I knew you'd be back today. As it is written, "dead always returns to his vomit."
I will now resume radio silence.

Not according to my reading. I've never heard of anyone hospitalized for health problems caused by marijuana. Have you? And also, how would Pink Floyd contiue to sell records without it???
To: Dane
Not so fast, you mountebank.
How do Sagan's political leanings discredit his ability as a writer?
To: Dane
As far as I know, Hitler never smoked pot.
Using your always faulty logic, I guess he's the "new poster child" for your forces.
Grow up.

Um... that's dog, not dead.
Changing aquarium water is subject to environmental health laws, check your local water district for details. Why even adding water could be in violation of animal cruelty laws!
If they haul you off to jail today it is your own damn fault! Be responsible, drink Thunderbird and Dane will behave accordingly.

Hilter was a staunch supporter of law and drank rather heavily, where's the poster??

How do Sagan's political leanings discredit his ability as a writer? First of all Carl Sagan didn't write the book pictured. Second he was a left wing loon.

Oh, and most important, Hilter never said a bad thing about Ronald Reagan.

But that brings me back to my Guiliani arguement. Guiliani cracked down on small and minor crimes and that in turn brought down rates of major crimes and you can't argue against that success. Crime went down in pretty much every major city in the US during Guiliani's term. A good economy, and less 15-30 year olds in the population tends to have that effect. I know it's hard for you to believe, but crime rates have many, many, many influences, and trying to pin it on one influence is near sighted at best, idiotic at worst...
