Traditional Catholic Action
Salon & Soiree
New Orleans, Louisiana
March 15th-17th (St. Patrick's Day Weekend)

CATHOLIC ACTION

Catholic Action is an apostolate. Its end is to win men to Christ as men were won to Christ by Peter and Paul.

Is is a social apostolate. It seeks to restore right order in society, to re-create society. But its action is not political. The breaking societies of the West cannot be renewed by economic or political panaceas.

Is is a moral sickness from which the body of society suffers, and it will not be cured by local plasters upon local symptoms. Politics, economics are phases of human behavior, but human behavior is inevitably determined by the right values which men hold, by their sense of right and wrong ...

Catholic Action restores society by converting it to Christ.

My house ... =)

I'm thinking we should stick to stuff that needs only cups, napkins and coffee stirrers for the Rectory.

I guess I just need to know what we're going to call ourselves. Any ideas?

Rummy Romanist Rebels?

Oh my gosh ... looks like afternoon refreshments will include one of my famous Puerto Rican Rum cheesecakes!

I shall start working on a Triple R seal we can use for official correspondence ... regardless what title we choose!

Thanks Dumb_Ox.

I'm not on your list, but I am Catholic and I am from New Orleans, & although I'm not there anymore, I think my Mom would LOVE to come to this seminar at St Pat's. She's not a freeper, wouldn't even know what one was, - is she welcome anyway?

OF COURSE. We would love to have her! Let me know if she can come and I'll reserve a place for her. I'm glad you wrote. Come Sunday, I may open what slots are left for those here in town I think would be interested.

Talking at the Rectory today, there may be something in the budget for a little reception Friday night beforehand. I said I'd prefer that all come out of my pocket.

As I've got to have RSVP's in order to mail out binders in advance, shouldn't be too difficult to get the curious over for a little wine and cheese Friday night.

a little wine and cheese

You're dairy-free and I'm on the wagon? Some swell party, huh? ;-)

Askel,

I'm going to attend a black tie event locally on March 16. The event(s) will be addressed by VP Dick Cheney via live webcast.

So, I must send my regrets. I'm on the wagon for Lent, too, and I'd be no fun. Thanks for putting this together. Best wishes.

You sure an event like that won't be the far greater risk for falling off the wagon?

I'd probably break fast just thinking about having to go. =)

(Patent -- could you hit your bump list ... I'm sure I have already flagged a couple but I resisted the urge to flag those I could see on your flaglist.)

First, I want to thank everyone who's taken the time to drop links or suggestions, or prayers thus far.

Second, I wish to ask YET MORE FAVORS ... =)

Thank you again for your help.

ATTENDEES:

Spoke with Fr. Klores and the folks in the Rectory today. Father is happy to begin the Symposium with a Mass. Folks can dig into coffee and pastries as I make some opening comments and we each pitch the internet as the premium took of apologetics at present (as coupled with face-to-face, each one save one solidarity =)

See you soon!

Well, at least I know what my MINIMUM measure of appeal will be ...

Frankly, I really like Conspiratio Sine Nomine.

And, hey, what's not to like? ...
Latin, top of the alphabet (without being too pushy) and a nod of sorts to the (old) FR on which we met. =)

Between Conspiratio Sine Nomine and our mysterious tridentine "R" emblem, we'll have the Revolution shaking in its collective boots, I bet. =)

conspiratio -onis f. [blowing or breathing together; harmony , agreement, union]; in bad sense, [conspiracy, plot].

I really like it. Buncha blowhards stumped for a name to call themselves. Perfect.

A certain truth in advertising where the "bad sense" is concerned. Damn straight we're "plotting". =)
