Thanks for the flag, Travis.

The excerpt reads great, and the storyline sounds quite plausible.

I have no doubt that the tyrants will eventually push things over the edge. It's just of question of how soon. At the current rate, it will be 5 years or less.

Other than the timetable, the only thing to be resolved is how will the pro-Freedom patriots respond? Will we endure tyrannical oppression, or will we fight it?

Bravo!

What's the phrase - ?

"Art imitates life" or "Life imitates art"? The events in your 2 exerpts could unfold any time during our new "patriotic" war. The sheeple will now do anything for security.

Love the description of the soccer mom in flight mode. Too real. Keep me updated on your progress.

Not sure about the KY Guard manning the seatbelt checkpoints. I haven't seen it here in the Northern sector. Wouldn't surprise me though. I'll look into it.

Of course, I have known a couple guys who use pepper spray as a breath mint...swim buddies of yours, maybe? ;o)

I made the mistake of letting one of those guys ride in my truck on the way back from Lambert airport after the Gulf War. He found pepper spray in my glove back and decided it would be a hoot to try it out to see how well I could drive under 'pressure.'

I learned my lesson. Since then I thank them for their service and tell them to get in back.

The guardsman(ette) shooting back at the mexican with the stuck trigger was a nice touch.

Wait until you see how this cluster foxtrot is reported in the mainstream media.

If I were the soccer mom, I woulda kept aiming for more Guardsmen and pigs, if possible.

For the record, in this book the guardsmen are just doing what they are told, without malice, as are 90% of local cops and even a lot of FLEOs. In fact local LEOs are some of the heros who use force to resist the "Special Training Unit" death squad.

If you are looking for a book where all feds are evil JBTs who deserve to be killed, this book is going to disappoint you.

I have no doubt that the tyrants will eventually push things over the edge. No doubt at all. They might even help with a big push like my stadium massacre. And it might only take a small handful of bad actors to engineer the push.

It's just of question of how soon. At the current rate, it will be 5 years or less. I think a lot depends on unpredictable events, and who is sitting in the whitehouse. I'd say it could be anytime from two to ten years out, but it's coming sure as hell.

Other than the timetable, the only thing to be resolved is how will the pro-Freedom patriots respond? Will we endure tyrannical oppression, or will we fight it? I think there will be resistance. No matter what type of false flag Reichstag Fire is engineered, a substantial percentage of Americans will not believe it and therefore will not accept any new laws coming as a result.

The biggest problem in the end for would be tyrants is the ten to fifteen million accurate rifles (minimum) floating around in America. It will simply not be possible to enforce dictatorial laws against Americans when they can shoot back from 300+ yards, because it is impossible to put a big enough security perimeter around all of the tyrant's henchmen. It's hard enough to put a perimeter like that around a handful of key leaders, but the rest of the legislators supporting the tyranny would have the choice of living in underground bunkers or risking a single "bullet from nowhere" every time they scurry from armored limosine to secure facility. The price in the end will be too hard for them without resorting to extremely draconian measures, which they try to implement in my novel.

Art imitates life: just ask the Eagle Scout in Maryland.

The only question is when and how the engineered provocation will occur, keeping in mind that it would not take a grand cabal to pull it off but as few as a handful or even one truly evil person.

Stephen Coonts edited a series of 3 books of military short stories called COMBAT. I just bought the #3 one and a half hours ago.

Why can't some FReepers put together a book of Terrorism short stories???

Coonts is an "established author" so he can publish anything he wants. I need to break in with my own "Flight of the Intruder" (big wish) before I can even think of anything else.

He didn't write the stories, he 'edited' them... remember the Tom Clancey series' that were written by someone else?

Easy money maker for them, just selling names.

I wonder....
