Sorry about the intermittent outages. We are doing some heavy duty database and software work on the server. We hope there will be no long periods of down time, but just in case, here is the URL of our contingency site on Yahoo:

http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/freerepublic

Be sure to visit and bookmark the site. We will post status messages there during any extended downtime periods.

Thanks,

Jim Robinson

Hopefully, peoples craving for cheese and meese will be so strong that they will eventually push that obscure General Interest link and make that side just as active.

Not as long as the perception remains that only stupid people go there. Like me.

Perception? It's a day old. Hard to build a reputation in that shot of time.

Why not use Free Dominion as a backup? It's way better than Yahoo.

Does this mean my log in page will change? It took me two years how to figure that out.

Get a grip. - Two bits, once this division is established, -- the 'general' catagory will be where the action will remain.

I'd bet that the format we see now will switch back again, and all the old posts will remain in the old generalized listings, -- and the new 'News/Activism' area will just have a higher, more restrictive posting criteria.

Makes more sense than making everyone shift all their existing stuff to another area.

We'll have to see. Being patient has bought me a forum divided because of a few professional whiners.

Then watch. You'll see. This is a way-bad idea, and if it dies on its own, I'll be one happy camper.

If that's where you'll be, that's all I need to know.

See you.

What if it blossoms to a huge site for FReepers to discuss everything under the sun without being bothered by mods? Personally, I pay close attention to the company I keep on websites, and there is none better than FReepers. So, if I am going to chat about cars, sports, humor, beer, ect, I want it to be with FReepers.
