Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

We just had a swift kick in the head (and the nuts). Eight long disgusting years of it. You can have it. I'm not about to help re-elect Clinton/Gore.

You seem to know all the numbers. What's the unemployment rate currently? What is considered full employment? How many illegals are there? What is the economic effect of sending them home when we are at full employment?

I do not agree with Bush on everything but, like Rush stated today he may have a motive such as sending troops to the border and this will soften up everyone when he does it. Who ya gonna choose Clinton? Edwards? GORE? I recomend for the good of our republic, vote republican and make sure you VOTE.

Let's see - we allow illegal aliens to "adjust" their status by paying a $ 1,000 fine - sure smells like amnesty to me. Would you like to have a discussion of the meaning of the word is?

I think there is a problem with just one particular foreign leader making demands that we would not tolerate from a leader from another country. Especially if some European leader insisted that we allow in as many of his citizens as he chose to rid his country of ---people would be outraged. It seems because of skin color there's a political correctness here that is very wrong ----lawbreakers are okay if they're the right color. There was a different outrage when Castro did the same as Fox is now doing with that boatlift during Carter's administration.

The 'ultimate' defender of Constitution IS the Second Amendment...

Not any more, that's what Homeland Security will ultimately be used for, the brutal elimination of Homeland dissent. I know, Bush is a Conservative and would never do that (sure!), but imagine President Dashle faced with a parade of anti-abortion activists ordering out the 'anti-terrorist' troups to quell an uprising.

To Jim and All: I am not overly happy about this myself, but my mind says there has to be some real reason....so I have thought about this all day, and you know what I got to thinking? Remember when the NYPD told all the crooks they had won tickets to the lottery and finally got them all in a room, well maybe that is what this is all about! If this is "loose lips" it won't offend me if you pull my post, but there has to be more to this than the Hispanic vote, that to me is suicide politically, what about the rest of us?

No. Let's discuss the law making process. How does that work? When does legislation become law? Has that happened yet? It hasn't! Then how is this thread about Bush giving amnesty? DO YOU SEE HOW SILLY THIS "IS"?

such as sending troops to the border

That will not happen----Fox won't allow it. As it is, they've set up commuter lanes and let Mexican citizens carry a swipe card that lets them pass with no checks at all done on them or their vehicle ----just so they can have the convenience of crossing into the US in 5 minutes or so.

After a great deal of thought, I'm going to suggest people on this board start thinking of themselves as "Constitutional Republicans", not conservatives or libertarians. The reason this is important is that as much as libertarians have their problems, conservatives have an even larger problem - they are essentially democrats who are happy with gaining power through elective democratic processes.

Well, I agree with your sentiments, but I left the Republican Party several years ago when they started drifting so far to the left. They left ME, actually. I have the same Constitutionally conservative values I always did. But the Republican party is now precisely where the Democrat party was 30-40 years ago. And the Democrats are where the Communist Party was at that time. Us folks here on the real right, where we believe in the government actually following the Constitution, are trying to get used to that ghost town sounding howling wind blowing through the empty streets - there's hardly anybody left around here anymore.

"Maybe the thing to do is throw our government to the wolves, and elect Daschle president. "

Would there be a difference?
