Conservative Rock Groups?

I was wondering if anybody can name some conservative rockers. It seams most people in the Music Industry are Left-Leaning, especially the hard stuff. I think you could say the same for most entertainment personalities, including movie stars and directors. So if any of my fellow conservatives could point me in the way of some good conservative rock groups it would be appreciated.

Creed and P.O.D

My teenage son listens to both and they "rock" ( I especially love Creed's music, lyrics and Scott Stapps voice ).

Creed is NOT a Christian band. Stapp's father was a minister and he has had a Christian upbringing but left home because of the strictness of his parents and their religion. I do believe, from listening to his lyrics, that he is "searching" for something missing in his life. They are conservative in their lyrics which I believe reflects their personal attitudes.

P.O.D.'s "Alive" is not a love song about a man and woman but rather about the relationship with Jesus although many relate it to that of man and woman ( listen to the lyrics and read about the band's faith ). "Youth of the Nation" is a wonderful, but sad, song about the situation of our youth. They are very conservative as well.

Yeah, I suppose. At 48, I feel like such an old fogie sometimes. I like melody and I like lyrics and if I hear even a couple of measures of rapping, to me it's a rap song and I turn it off. My kids like POD, though, and the group is clean and they don't cuss and they have a positive message and so it's fine with me.

Queensryche, Riot, Savatage, the new Judas Priest cd has some very anti NWO lyrics. Check out Queensryche, especially "operation mindcrime" which reads like a black ops subterfuge operation. Lots of political intrigue.

Big Creed fan here. I've always been a big Rock and/or Heavy Metal fan. After I had kids, I had a hard time finding something I could listen to with them in the car with me. LOL Pantera just wasn’t going to work. Then Creed came along, thank God.

Their music is great! Their words are very meaningful. He denies their music is "Christian" and claims it's just "spiritual", but Christians know Christian symbolism when we see it. We know what he is talking about when he talks about being enslaved to sin or addictions. There is a lot of immersion in water in several or their videos, coming out of the water a new person.

Have you read the words to "America". There is a line in that song that speaks of abortion. Excellent song.

Talking about yuppie groups. One thing that particularily annoyed me after September 11th, was when all the pop stars came together to collaborate on the song 'What's Going On?'. This song originally started out as some kind of tribute and fundraiser for the victims of September 11th. The other day, I was watching MTV and found out that they switched the tribute and fundraising to AIDS victims in Africa. I thought that was a misleading way to fundraise for money. And I wouldn't care so much, but just the fact that celebrities are throwing money at the AIDS problem in Africa and then not encouraging more moral behavior for the population in there is just so annoying. The AIDS problem in Africa is not going to stop if people do not become one partner for life people.

Creed is very good. I've become a fan of theirs, though I notice that, perhaps because their lyrics are not your typical collectivist/leftist pishposh, they often get derided by fans and some critics to whom such deviation is simply not to be abided.

Your comment also put me in mind of a band I sometimes enjoyed when I was growing up, Iron Butterfly: their leader and keyboardsman, Doug Ingle, was the son of a church organist, and there was, indeed, precisely what one of the band's liner notes claimed: an influence of the classical church music turned up in much of his songwriting, right down to the organ solo he took, following the infamous drum break, in the band's best-remembered number, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." (To this day, that solo puts me in mind of the church or, better yet, the Reform Jewish synagogue in which I grew up.) Ingle also used such influences in such passages as the introductions to songs like "Possession," "My Mirage," and "Fields of Sun"...

I can tell you that Queensryche's EMPIRE tells another story. There is a family element to the band and some religious overtones but they tended to rip on the Bush administration in the late 80s and early 90s. I am a fan of theirs but barely since they have decided to release one pile of crap after another the last 3 releases.
