The most liberal movie of all time was 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'. An old black and white from the 50's.

A being from outer space arrived and told us that we were to stop all the fighting among ourselves. At this point the liberals were swooning! What a wonderful guy!

Then he added if we refused to live in peace he would blow the earth to pieces killing us all!

Seems reasonable!

The Day the Earth Stood Still

An excellent choice. What is interesting, in the 1940 story on which the film was loosely based ("Farewell to the Master" by Harry Bates), there was none of the "enlightened space brother" stuff that permeated the movie. In the story, it was the robot who turned out to be the master, not Klaatu.

"Gort ... Barada ... Nictu!"

Michael Rennie was way cool!

Patricia Neal was good, too!

I didn't like Gort, tho.
