By the sheer Grace and blessing of God, none of my children have any of those issues above I'm guessing there is a little bit of hard work necessary from you too. Keep up the good work.
To: CaptBlack
I can't think about it too much or I'll run off a cliff somewhere. Please don't do that. The world needs more loving, caring parents like you.

ALL of them have gaming machines, e.g., Nintendo, Sega, etc., UNMONITORED Heh, gaming machine's are evil, EVIL I tell you. Dont be silly, most gaming 'nerds' are the ones making straight As in school and most druggies, etc even if they do play video games are playing sports games, because its about as difficult a concept as they can understand. Believe me. Very very very few games have ANY sexual themes in them at all. The only one I can think of that is mainstream that did was Duke Nukem 3d which came out in 1996 I believe and it wasn't even close to the main theme.

Bro...you should have posted your message to him privately. I don't think the public humiliation was necessary...
To: rb22982
You may want to look a little bit closer...many, many video games take their clothing tips straight from MTV. Check out SF III for instance. While there's no "sex as theme" there are plenty examples of "constant barrage of sex as backdrop." Tomb Raider is another good example of that...the cover packaging on Everquest (haven't played the game), etc...

Think what you will, but as someone who has been playing games since I was age 5 through now (just over 20) and have played with 1000s and 1000s of gamers from my state NC and across the entire globe (canada, mexico, europe, korea, china, etc) most gamers are 'nerds' by almost all definitions of the word. While EQ may have a pic of a girl on the front, it is hardly the content of the game. Most druggies, very sexually active teens, etc do NOT play many games. Most of them consider it 'uncool' and like I said, even if they do play, its usually video games. Games like EQ and other RPGs take a lot of thought and effort to become good at, driving most of the 'lazy' druggies, etc away

When will parents wake up to this???? I think what gets me mad more than anything is that most parents continue to send their kids off to these institutions each and everyday. They will never wake up because there are precious few Americans who know how to be a parent. They all rely on TV and the experts and the govt. schools to socialize and raise their children for them. Most parents today are products of bad parents themselves and do not have the ability or the will to parent properly. They can't convey what they themselves do not possess. If daddy is an amoral clueless parent, it is likely that sonny will be also as the apple never falls far from the tree.

Good post.
To: upchuck
Dear upchuck: Both. I haven't figured out how to paste internet articles to forums, such as this, yet. I had to retype the articles by hand for this forum. My personal comments are well labeled. THanks for asking.-RWBaral

Where's the abstinence President, George W. Bush, on this one? I guess he's pulled another Clinton. Run on abstinence and allow the Colin Powell and the CDC to implement Joycely Elders' ideas.

Who gives a rat's behind whether this is "breaking news"?? Got an opinion on
the report"??Please forgive some of us for being remiss in first consulting our 'Emily Post' guide to posting a thread or else the "pinkys out" crowd won't freak out.

TO Ol' Sparky: Good question. I don't know. Wish Powell would get on the same page as Bush on this vital issue.

So each individual should decide the criteria for "Breaking New?" If that were the standard, and there were no moderators, soon "Breaking News" would have as much impact as CNN does. Don't get me wrong, F16F, I'm not criticizing the subject material, I'm just not for diluting the importance of "Breaking News." Maybe we need to lobby for the "Front Page" sidebar's return.

In the typical "Abstinence-Plus" program, students are required to go to the store to find condoms, learn about lubricants (including "grape jelly, maple syrup and honey,")... Maple syrup? I will never look at a plate of pancakes the same way again.

To: leadpenny
Dear leadpenny: As far as I'm concerned, this IS breaking news. It is to me, and I'm sure many are in the dark about these dastardly people & their diabolical influences on school children! Again, parents & grandparents, WAKE UP!

It's not just the content of the machine, but the unchecked access time. Leads to homework not being done and so forth as well as lack of attention to all things not gaming.
BTW, I have games myself and games I bought for the children.
