Jenin's War Criminals
Wall St Journal ^ | April 30, 2002 | JEROME MARCUS

The United Nations is intent on investigating charges that Israeli forces violated the human rights of Palestinians during this month's raid on the Jenin refugee camp. Because noncombatants were killed there, the word "massacre" is being bandied about in the press. Many in the "human rights community," however, have already reached a verdict. "When we are confronted with the extent of destruction of the Jenin refugee camp," says Rene Kosirnik of the International Committee of the Red Cross, "it is difficult to accept that international humanitarian law has been respected." Amnesty International claims it too has evidence of human-rights abuses in Jenin.

The palestinians become criminals since early age. The UN should go to blown up restaurants, religious services, and market places in Israel, to see real human rights violations.

Mr. Marcus speaks the obvious truth. Where lawlessness is permitted, the terrorist will florish. This is especially true in the Middle East. Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia are about the most inhospitable, useless pieces of real estate you could ever hope to find, and yet they are an ideal place for Al Qaeda to grow, because there is no law.

The same is true of the areas under control of the Palestinian Authority, because the PA did not enforce the law and allowed terrorists to operate with impunity. It is about time Israel put an end to that.

Agreed. How soon will this thread see posts that cry out against the evil IDF murdering those innocent Palestinians? Not long, I'm ashamed to say. The anti-Israel/Jew/Whatever crowd is blinded by lies, paranoia and hate--even more so than those ignorant, barbaric followers of Arafat, Bin Laden and Hussein...
