Well, not really Front Page News, and the real anniversary is May 4, but
For those who were here, and those who were not:
The "fine print" on the Ad to either side of the "Treason Puzzle" contains excerpts from Sen. Inhofe's Senate speech. In particular, the following snippets are on the Ad:
(President Clinton) misled the American people on numerous occasions about the threat posed by strategic nuclear missiles in the post cold war era.
President Clinton made statements on over 130 separate occasions, such as the following: For the first time since the dawn of the nuclear age, there is not a single solitary nuclear missile pointed at an American child tonight. Not one. Not a single one.
(President Clinton) knew that China was targeting up to 18 intercontinental ballistic missiles at American children.
(President Clinton) signed export control waivers which allowed his top campaign fundraisers aerospace company to transfer sensitive U.S. missile guidance technology to China.
(President Clinton) shifted the prime satellite export responsibility from the State Department to the Commerce Department, making it easier for China and others to get sensitive military-related U.S. technology.
President Clinton hosted over 100 White House fundraisers as part of a larger aggressive scheme to raise campaign contributions, many from illegal foreign sources, primarily including sources in China. Among guests permitted to attend these White House fundraisers were a convicted felon and a Chinese arms dealer.
John Huang, Charlie Trie, Johnny Chung, James Riady and others with strong ties to China were deeply involved, with the Presidents knowledge, in raising Chinese-tainted campaign cash for the Clinton campaign.
John Huang, who had been given a security clearance without a background check, was permitted to receive numerous classified CIA briefings, both during and after his stay at the Commerce Department.
President Clinton was successfully stopping the deployment of a national missile defense system, exposing every American life to a missile attack, leaving us with no defense against an intercontinental ballistic missile.
It seemed important at the time, and remains important, IMHO.
Bump.
It was important, it is important, and it remains important, Rooster, but GWB won't even allow the arming of Airline Pilots - he'd rather shoot down a plane full of Americans, than do the obvious, right, American thing.
Klintoon-Krimes were deleted from his screen the day he was sworn in. He's having a nice little war now, and preparing us for more, while preventing Americans from being traditionally self-reliant, and blathering about 'Not-Profiling-Arabs', while searching old-white-ladies, a CMOH former Governor, a congresscritter, and a former Vice-President.
I still think that we were doing something important here on FR, and I still thought we could make a difference. From 1997 through December of 2000, we worked our butts off to stop the malevolence in washingtoon, and restore to our Country, the freedoms and honesty that so many of us have fought for, and so many have died for.
The day the music-died for me, was when a reporter asked GWB: "Shouldn't we arm the Airline Pilots?", and he replied: "NO! WE DON'T WANT TO DO THAT!"
Looking back, I guess I was finished with activism at that point. If a F*CKING FIGHTER PILOT, who made President, won't even uphold the Second Ammendment, to allow a Ships-Captain, to protect his Ship, Crew, and Passengers from harm, then I am hopeless, and I think I'll just leave the losing-game to those who wish to play it!
I invested a lot of myself in Free Republic, both financially and physically, and I don't regret a single minute of it! (Well, those two near-heart-attacks and the pneumonia, maybe...) I think Jim-Rob created a wonderful forum here, and it may yet achieve his goals, and I'm still for it!
Maybe I just expected too much from GWB. I was hoping he'd be a Republican. Stay well and vigilant, pal! I'm goin' fishin' now, and I'm packin' heat! We're on our own out here, and no amount of 'gummint' is ever gonna help honest Americans...........FRegards
