"We'll have to take it to the Supremes won't we?"

Wouldn't that ultimately be a good thing....assuming that they uphold the Constitution and put the liberals in their place? Wouldn't that put it to rest and set a precedent that would actually give conservatives some breathing room in this country again?

What a coincidence, I majored in Ranch and Poppy Seed. She and I might have something to talk about. Ya think I should spend some time with her, in, ummm, the advancement of conservatism?

What a delicious irony, that a group of enlightened and loquacious defenders of constitutional privilege are now entangled in this trenchant imbroglio calling into question the very principles their movement was founded upon.

Must've taken her a few days to come up with this sentence.....

PS - FR will never die.

THANK YOU. FV ON LIST PLEEEEEZ. However, who is calling us Freedom Fighters? That is what the Palestinians call themselves. I do not like that tag. WE ARE FREEDOM LOVERS NOT FREEDOM FIGHTERS imo.

OUR LOVE OF FREEDOM has us sharing information and ideas and no one does it better, including the mainscream media and, the liberal papers will never "get it". LIB fighter, of course - every day. FV

As both sides are armed with strong and persuasive rhetoric, the issue is exacerbated by the fact that Free Republic is a nonprofit movement. All of its funding comes from private donations. Therefore, there is soundness in the Freepers' assertion that they are not stealing the articles for commercial gain but rather passing them around to educate and illuminate each other on issues of immediate relevancy.

Which reminds me, I'm going to send you a donation in the next couple of days.....

Free Republic will never die. And she was a little low on the membership count. I believe the count is up to 90K or 100K and WE AREN'T LEAVIN! We are getting stronger and staying on message. Freep on! AND LET'S GET SOME MORE CONSERVATIVES ELECTED THIS FALL!

Edwards is a Podium Pounding Pretty Boy.

And his ambulance chasing trial lawyer background is a negative imo.

You don't think that if FR loses that the case wouldn't be used a precedent and applied in multiple ways thereafter to other first amendment cases? If FR should lose, God forbid, but I believe every newspaper that publishes on line will be seeking the same monetary damages from every other website that has used their material.

Re: the possible precedent, I will defer to the legal experts on that. I think it would, though.

My point is:
I honestly believe that FR has set in motion a conservative online "revolution", for lack of a better term.
I think that there is a better than even chance that FR could... perish the thought... be forced to shut down.

They may cut off FR but, like the Hydra, two more sites like it will pop up in its place.
The media is running scared because they know that more and more people are aware of their bias.
This suit is nothing more than an attempt to stifle conservative views.

In short, the LAT & WP can stifle FR... but they can't stifle all of us!

LET'S ROLL.

The Badger Herald is not technically a "lib" paper. It is actually the "independent" [read: non-socialist] paper of U-Wisconsin Madison. The Daily Cardinal is the "lib" paper there.

If the two-party system were destroyed, you'd never see another conservative elected again. The left would have two parties, Green and Democrat, and the right would have at least half a dozen. I'm not looking forward to that day.

Hardly. ;-)

But I am a Tom...and I am going to run against Daschle...does that count? :-)
