What you missed is that he is from a more fundie cult than Catholism,and he was getting in their faces and telling them they were going to hell unless they converted to HIS cult. You have no idea how obnoxious these SOB's can be untill you have to deal with one yourself. Politely telling them you don't share their beliefs and asking them to leave you alone doesn't work. Neither does being rude and telling them to shut the hell up. Your only real option is to resort to violence,or the sincere threat of violence.

You missed the fact that a religious organization does not have to provide a forum for a supporter of another religion to proselytize in. Would you be so confounded by this decision if that person was a proselytizing satanist or a wiccan? Or do you believe that all religious organizations should be forcibly opened to recruitment, by the courts, to any group regardless of their religious tenets? If so say good-by to freedom of religion.
