[history]
A state still reeling from anthrax attacks is quietly preparing to give health officials the power to quarantine and require vaccinations in a bioterror attack.
Despite civil rights concerns, Gov. Jeb Bush said last week he intends to sign a law expanding the powers of Florida health officials in declaring emergencies.

RE:"I've weighed the civil liberties issues against the needs for us as a state to be prepared, and I think I will sign," Bush said.
Translation: "You are all cattle."

Translation: "You are all cattle." Uh, make that cattle with no rights - period. What about people who may die as a result of such an injection (dangerous allergic reactions, for one?) Parents most often know what their child can and cannot tolerate. What if there's a conflict in such a case? The "health worker" better be darn careful.
This legislation needs further fine-tuning or people will die as a result of efforts to protect them. Not good.

people will die as a result of efforts to protect them Children die in this country from forced vaccinations and the dear old government still keeps passing more and more mandates. Most parents have NO idea of the deaths and permanent health damage from these vaccinations and thus go blindly along trusting in the government to know best. The same thing will happen with these new and improved gobermint powers IMHO.

It's a shame that this thread has not generated more response. Of course, there IS a Bush involved.

It's a shame that this thread has not generated more response. Of course, there IS a Bush involved.Yes, and the same Bush was involved in the Florida citrus outrage not long ago which involved gross violations of private property. And boy did the rank-and-file come out of the woodwork to defend it. Of couse, had it been a Democrat in charge the rank-and-file would've screamed bloody murder. Hypocrites. Are you familiar with the Florida citrus outrage (fruit canker)?

Yes. And I'm one of the quieter ones on the Property Rights issues. The Feds are going to run into a hornets nest in short order along those lines.
Many feel that the sweat of their labors is not going to be subject to much more control.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Here comes all the chicken littles crying about our repressive government. My family will be glad to take our injections. The rest of you can die if you want to.

The "health worker" better be darn careful. The "health worker" is protected against prosecution or liability in these emergencies. If anyone dies then too bad. Just read the "fine print".
You're just sheep - deal with it.

I agree that they should not be forced to have injections. Just shot on sight if they are infected and wandering around in public because they exercised their right to endanger everyone else.

The law would allow officials under certain conditions to quarantine and require vaccinations despite a person's health or religious concerns. Hmmm. I would like to know where the vaccinations are derived from. If they're derived from the same source as these vaccines...then I have a problem. Do you know who develops the anthrax vaccine?

Well, I don't want to endanger anyone, but I do have specific religious beliefs--and I am aware that certain vaccines have been developed from the lung tissue of aborted fetuses. If you must shoot me, then I suppose that will be better than benefitting from evil.

Have you heard of "Gulf War Syndrome"? FYI, the anthrax vaccine is a VERY dangerous injection and HAS cause numerous deaths.
To: JMJ333
Let me tell you something. If there is a bio-terror attack, there WILL be martial law. There will be shoot on sight orders for ANYONE that refuses quarantine or has refused vaccination OR other treatment that could have stopped your contagion. Neither religious beliefs OR your civil rights have meaning under those circumstances. That is no different than the shoot down orders for future hijackings.
To: Texasforever
Regardless, I would still be concerned if the vaccine is derived from aborted fetuses. I wouldn't want it because it is never permissable to benefit from evil at the expense of an innocent. I'm sorry that pisses you off. All I wanted to know was if anyone knew who made the product, so that I can discern for myself alternatives if I had to. Knock of your rabid behavior. I'm not an enemy.

I am not "pissed"off. I am just stating that people have a choice and both choices have consequences. Tell me would your personal choice not to be vaccinated extend to your children( if you have any) as well?
