Islamic Terrorists Targeting Hospitals? (The Unreported Story in Chicago)
Christ Hospital Confidential Sources ^ | 6/2/2002 | USConservative

Posted on 06/02/2002 12:50:08 PM PDT by usconservative

Heard this last night and confirmed it today while @ church.

Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) was recently under "surveillance" by several Muslim appearing men. It seems that these Muslim appearing-men were taping the parking garages, emergency room entrances, and indeed the Trauma Center of Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn just last week. When they were noticed by a Trauma Center Nurse (my contact) she immediately contacted Hospital Security.

Hospital Security pursued the Muslim appearing men can caught them with video records and digital cameras. A fight ensued, and the Muslim appearing men escaped. Hospital security cameras caught the incidence on tape.

The FBI was called and was on hospital premises within an hour. Tapes from security systems were seized for review, and an ongoing investigation has been occuring at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL over the past week. Witnesses report seeing Muslim appearing men walking hospital grounds and filming over the past several weeks.

The investigation is ongoing.

To you and Vermont...Hispanics have a bit of the Asian/American Indian appearance, particularly recent immigrants who are from working class Mexican and Latin American communities who come here to build houses and work on road crews. Short in stature, women tend to pudginess. The elite Mexicans look more European and lightskinned, because they don't associate or marry with Los Indios. Cherokees in my area find themselves confused with Hispanics, which they do not appreciate. A discriminatory culture, Mexico. Check out their recent presidents, like Fox. They don't look Aztec, they look Antonio Banderas.

Frankly, I find telling Middle-Easterners and East Indians apart (Muslims and Hindus) because they are very similar.

However, I did once teach a group of Middle-Eastern Muslims, and waited on their tables in restaurants. Here's a dead giveaway: the way they look at women. This will work every time. There is a hateful, nasty, lustful, reptilian manner in the way a Good Muslim looks at a woman, as if she is the vilest, most disgusting creature on earth. "First I'll f*** you then I'll kill you." They looked at me that way at the head of the classroom and when I served them *alcohol*...

So, ask a chick if she has the icky shudders after he looks at her.

I don't think the best terrorist training can change this behavior, it is ingrained. When that actor (Wood something?) described how nasty the "rehearsal run" hijackers behaved toward the stewardess.

They were surprised! They did not think the towers would collapse. If they had secondary targets they may have not been able to het to them.

DFU,
I heard you on KABC with Brian last night.
Even if some folks think it's over-the-top, keep up your commentary on airport security.

I drove from Oklahoma to LA for my job in late 1995; I had been in school at Okla. State U.
when the OKC/Murrah bombing happened. A co-worker who lived in a house southwest of Stillwater
swears that her picture window glass rattled at about the time of the explosion.
Her house would be approx. 65 miles from the Murrah Building as the crow flies.
I don't know if this was actually the case, but I always remember it when I hear
the term "blast zone".

When I made my first trip through LAX, given my OKC connection, about the first thing
that came to mind was how easy it would be for some bad-boys to drive a couple of
explosive-loaded "tour" buses (with blacked windows) out into the lower level when a holdiay
crowd was at it's height...and just rip the cord.
This was in 1996.

I haven't flow post 9-11...I find it hard to believe that even now the authorities have any
real defenses/barriers to a determined nut who could get a semi loaded with explosives
up to speed and blast on into the lower circle.

I presume they haven't installed Vulcan guns with depleted uranium rounds to stop this...

They were surprised!

They got another suprise about a month later when bombs started falling.
I remember reading that Osama was still busy with construction/improvements
on his terrorists resort complex in Kandahar when the 9-11 attack occurred.

He never dreamed we'd come after him and his butt-boys.

I suspect that the other suprise is that the US economy (and a lot of the world economy)
didn't just collapse along with the WTC, given all the trading houses that took a hit.
I guess Osama and his buddies know a lot about e-mail and encrypting messages in photo files...
but severely underestimated the resilience of our redundant computer networks serving the
equity and bond markets.

I was suggesting to my husband that Whidbey might be a target when I heard that they had SAMs. He didn't think it would be a big enough target because we were thinking individual planes. I still think it is a possibility.

I thought that maybe they would hit a ship in Bremerton and then the planes as they took off to respond.

Thanks for the anecdote. Our company protected the glass in a building about a block and a half away for the Murrah building. Buildings all around it had blown in glass and significant damage. Our building did not lose a pane of glass. Through the efforts of the SSAF president, we may be getting a Florida international airport to be making some changes. A commissioner met with him last week and was amazed that the structural engineer, who told him it would be safe to again park in the close short-terms lots, had not told him what would happen if a car bomb parked in that lot. Yes, the structure would survive, but the kill zone from the shards of glass would be up to about 182 feet.

Mentioning shards of glass...I think the term "maiming zone" would be of interest
to anyone running an airport or facility that's a likely target.

Did you see the segment on Sixty Minutes II about the hardened structural changes
made to the part of the Pentagon hit on 9-11 that probably saved quite a few lives?

It was interesting to see how even the specially constructed window system
would bend, but not break, under that sort of assault. IIRC, one of the survivors talked
about seeing the fireball out side his window...but it didn't come it.

That aired maybe three, four months ago.

I missed the 60 MINUTES piece. Our security window film sustains 72 Jouels of energy and 100 psi. By far, it exceeds any thing else made in the world.

I think your husband is more on the mark here, IMO. But then I'm a man and we tend to agree with each other on these things. ;)

Think about what terrorists do: they want to demoralize a country's population, not its military or government. By targeting the civilian population, they "encourage" (for lack of a better way for me to say it at the moment) the general civilian population to recoil in horror and limit their activities/movement. While targeting a civilian population will alays force a Military and Government response, the psychological effect IMO is more devastating by targeting civilians vs. Military or Government. We sort-of *expect* the military to be targets. Witness the USS Cole. What psychological impact did that have on the US Civilian population? Not much in the grand scheme of things. What effect did Sept. 11th have? Quite a bit.

By targeting passenger planes, they'd be discouraging the public from flying. In fact, they've pretty much already done that. Airlines are still down 25-30% capacity post Sept. 11th. A recent report in the Chicago Tribune states clearly that people would rather DRIVE 6-8 hours via car for personal/business than they would FLY. Why? The hassles going through the airport, perceived lax airport security, the inconvenience, and the FREEDOM to come/go as they please when they drive vs. fly. They're not limited to airline schedules that way.

I can tell you that this is true, because many of my co-workers commute between Chicago and Detroit, where our other data center is. They're driving instead of flying. Flying takes them 6 hours easy, driving takes them 5-6 hours *and* they have more flexibility. By the time they get to the airport, through security, on the plane, make the 50 minute flight, get their baggage, get out of the airport and catch a taxi/limo home it's easily 6 hours and it's a huge hassle. (BTW: has anyone else noticed rental car rates have gone UP because of the increase in demand for them?)

The possibility that SAM's are here in the U.S. and in terrorist hands makes me exceptionally nervous. Think TWA-800 where scores of witnesses went on record saying they saw a flasy of light go UP from the ocean surface TO the plane. A SAM can be launched easily from a small 24' cabin cruiser, and I suspect that's precisely what happened (call me a conspiracy kook. I didn't want to believe it at first, but the clincher for me was the full page ad in the WSJ/NY Times from the witnesses who saw it.)

Given the fact that our borders are sieves (especially our border with Canada) I don't find it hard to believe at all SAM's were smuggled in by terrorists and they're laying in wait to strike again. As somoene who flies as part of his job, it does cause me concern. I have my own theories on how these terrorist scum might use them, but I really don't want to share them publicly at the risk of giving anyone ideas. I think blowing another plane out of the sky is a very *real* possibility, and it can be done much *easier* than any of us suspect/think. I also don't think our government can stop it.

Doug, check this out from the link a few posts up. Verification from an independent source who lives in the area and was recently at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn that the Feds are everywhere at the hospital:

by Vipper at 06-03-2002 07:25 PM

"Well, this one should give ya a major heads up on the Christ Hospital thing as being a fact...

Nate was swinging on his swing and went too high and flew off the thing backwards. 11 year old comes in screaming with him in tow. Holding her new (was white) shirt on his head with pressure to stop the bleeding as she tries to hold him in her arms. He's gushing everywhere. What a mess! Call the ped doc (from Loyola) and he's in WI in Appleton about 30 minutes from my farm at his Brothers who's wife is our ped up there on vacation. He calls back instantly and said get him to Christ. So, off we go to Christ Hospital and a Doctor Harris he's called to meet us there in emergency greets us. (Palos Hospital doesn't do head trauma's from children 2 or younger it seems; not set up for them!) 911 won't bring him to Loyola; only Palos or Christ.

I will tell ya first hand Fed's everywhere!!!! At the entrance to emergency, in the waiting room hubby ended up in after he got there. Search's if they thought you looked strange entering or just for the heck of it, it seems. We came in via emergency and 911 ambulance (my arms were too bad to drive today, so I'll get a nice bill for that one). Hubby met us there and was cross checked with ID verses patient before allowed in... He had to park over at the out lot as the emergency lot was shut off.

So, 11 stitches later in the lower back right part of his large head; Mom's on the hour wake up shift all night he's doing find right now and rather unhappy about the things in his head at present (wait till they try to take them out LOL). The cinder blocks he hit his head on that were hidden under the pea gravel in the play area are mostly removed from Hubby tonight outta Dammit mode basically. Calling Vulcan Materials for another 7 to 10 inches of pea gravel to be delivered tomorrow to the play area so this doesn't happen again...

Just thought I'd let ya know... Based on what I've heard from friends last night and seen first had this report was a creditable one for sure...

Kath "

Terrorists just don't know how incredibly frenzied the response from America will be if they blowup a hospital here. It would be the worst miscalculation they will ever make!

I share your indignation, however, I just can’t envision any kind of response equal to their evil deeds. Who would respond and exactly what do you think they would do?

Law enforcement’s hands are tied by PC and the ever present accusation of profiling.
Citizens can’t do a damn thing for fear of arrest. If you try to detain, you’ll be charged with assault and battery. If you brandish a weapon, you might as well kiss you a** good-bye.

We are sitting ducks and the only thing we are allowed to do is QUACK!

The reason that I thought that the next target that the terrorists would hit might be military is because of the backlash that any kind of a civilian attack would cause against Muslims in this country. I think if we have another civilian hit, the people will be uncontrollable. Muslims will not be safe in their own homes and all foreigners will be suspect. There will be a huge demand to close all borders and stop all immigration.
