IMHO, the best song on something else is "two sisters."

Captain Beefheart And The Magic Band

WHO? They're listed twice. I've heard of everyone else on the list, though most of them are older than I am (30's). Also surprised to not see U2 on the list, when REM & Talk Talk & Nirvana are. Maybe U2's "Unforgettable Fire", unless they read either RS or Billboard calling it one of the worst albums of all times. And yes, Boston is great.

Captain Beefhart was a vocalist (among other things) for Frank Zappa back in the 70's. He got his own recording contract and went wild. Trout Mask Replica is his best 'known' work. it's very werid avant-garde stuff.

Actually, if I had to pick only one, it would be the greatest live album in all of Rock'n'Roll:

Also arguably the first "punk rock" album.

You forgot the greatest "live" album ever made- Kiss' Alive II. Just got hold of a vinyl copy again recently, and it's still the best. Was glad to see Van Morrison in the list. I've thought for years that it should be illegal for anyone else so sing "Moon Dance"- ever. Like Janis Joplin and "Bobby McGee", it's the definitive version, and can't be matched.

Meddle is a great album. Good to see others appreciate it, as well.

Two of the top five albums ever made are Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. Any list that doesn't have both of those in it is automatically disqualified. Although, Animals was always my favorite (it's still far superior to most of the albums listed here.)
