[history]
Country singer Toby Keith has some choice words for Peter Jennings.
Toby Keith says the producer of an ABC 4th of July TV special rescinded an offer to have the country singer perform his current hit after the show's host, World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings, heard the song and vetoed it.

You also have Hank Williams Jr "America will survive."
To: Lou L
"Another reason to like country music..." I agree! I have never considered myself a country fan, but one thing is obvious, the people of country music are some of America's biggest patriots. You gotta love that!

Aw Toby it's not about you. To Jennings it's about "I want to talk about me" I like this song but I think Alan Jackson's is the best. We probably won't hear it on the networks either, because can you believe he actually says he knows Jesus?!
To: rintense
"I bet Dan Rather'd let me do it on his special."
Toby, dammit!
I am quite sure Toby's a fine fella. There's no doubt in my mind. Country music singers generally speaking---like NASCAR folks and like pro-golfers, generally speaking, of course---good, decent Americans. But like good looking women, sometimes to the ones to whom the Lord gives the good looks He short-changes 'em on the gray matter.
Toby, listen up, son: Dan Rather ain't gonna like your song any better than a Canadian. Toby---Rather and all the network media trash liberals are all EQUALLY traitors to our country. Damn, son, it don't matter that they were born in the USA. I know that's hard to believe. Now git yore a$$ back down to the Western supply store and git yoresef a new hat. The sun and rain and wear has done caused yer old one to git too tight on your head it must have cut off the circulation or something and you need a new one. But God love you boy, that is one helluva song.
And we love you over here in West Tennessee, too, son!!
Now if we could just get some of our LEADERS to show the emotion that our COUNTRY SONGWRITERS are demonstrating!!!

How about some excessive photo posting--of Toby, of course ;-)
There, that's a start.
sigh...

I love Alan jackson's song but the bit about "I watch CNN" always makes me want to yell "But Why Alan WHY?"
To: Lou L
Most of the stations I've heard playing the song have edited it to say, "a bullet in your eye".
To: Lou L
He is wrong about Dan Rather however.
Dan the Man RAT thinks we are too patriotic ya know.
Translation, he can't bash Bush as much as he'd like to.
To: Johnny Gage
Make the switch. Most people are. Current "popular" music is nothing but filth, emphasising sex, immorality, and all types of other garbage. With country music, you hear more patriotism, more love, more talks of family, marriage, and the like. Not to mention, in my opinion, it sounds lots better than the drivel played on the top 40 stations. That's not to say that there aren't a few bad songs in country in terms of immorality. In order to not go wrong, try Contemporary Christian. It's 100% clean, sounds wonderful, is inspirationally uplifting, and it exists to praise the Savior, Jesus Christ. Furthermore, it is on the move. Contemporary Christian and Country music are gaining in popularity while pop, top 40, rock and rap are falling. It's easy to see why.

Aggie, that's just your opinion. However, we all know that country is America's most popular genre, and it is America's music. Just because you like hard rock or whatnot doesn't mean that country is bad.
To: FreedomFriend
Yes............ it does. I'm sorry, but country is horrid, imbred, flatulence....... :-(
To: Commiewatcher
I always had a lot of regard for Walter until the time he took the "impeached" Clinton out on his boat. That ended my regard for him.
