The New Plegde of Allegiance!
Vanity | 06/26/02 | BradyLS

With the 9th's decision, it's only a mtter of time before the Left rewrites the Pledge of Allgeinace. I caught one busy-body hard at work on writing a new Pledge. Here's what he suggested. Any others?

I pledge my income and my allegiance
to the Internal Revenue Service
And to the nanny state, which it must support,
one octopus, with with many arms,
for the security and regulation of all.

Take the current version, substitute the phrase "our Creator" for the word "God". It will then be unassailable.

for the security and regulation of all.

How about . . .

for the security of the government and regulation of all others.

The Atheist Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to myself,

The only rational standard of value,

And to the state which has to give me my rights,

Which are unlimited in every direction,

One freethinking individual,

On top of it,

With absolute license and special privileges

For me.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united nations
and to the government for which it stands
all people earning equal
with poverty and squalor for all.

Short, sweet, to the point.

You may have a winner.

I pledge alleigance to liberalism and to the political correctness for which it stands. One world government, under Gaia, with sodomy, perversion, and free health care for those the ruling political party deems worthy.

Perhaps this. (A parody - or is it?)

I pledge loyalty and allegiance to the State, indivisible and perpetual, and promise to serve my leaders always and without question, now and forever. I do further pledge all that I have to the service of the glorious State, and I bind my children to this promise as I do myself. And should I not do my duty and fulfill my promise, may the loyal Security Services end my criminal existence immediately.

Unfortunately, sometimes life follows too closely the pattern of a sad parody such as this. Let us hope it doesn't in this case.

I pledge my ignorance - to the flag - of the United Nations General Assembly,
and to the public - schools and sector. One government under Democrats - invincible - at liberty to sieze justice from all.

Hi BradyLS!

Almost seems that the poll on CourtTV, concerning this matter, is "rigged". The question reads:

"Do you believe 'under God' should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Requires S-E-R-I-O-U-S FREEPING, ASAP!!!

Thanks for the forum!

Here's my suggestion. Just alter the "offending" phrase thusly: "One nation under God/other diety/neither..." You then leave it to the individual to choose what they prefer. Hey, it's diversity at its best.

Some prolife advocates recite the following slightly revised Pledge:
'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, born and unborn
A few liberals recite a slightly revised version of Bellamy's original Pledge:
'I pledge allegiance to my Flag, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with equality, liberty and justice for all.'

Hi "Stand Watch Listen"!

"AMEN"! and a BUMP!

Oh yes, there's a link to the CourtTV "poll" on this matter of the alleged unconstitutionality of the phrase "under God", at post #33, on the "How is the 'under God' unconstitutional?" Thread.

Thanks!
