I think his words are being taken out of context. I think what he meant was that the memory of September 11th won't discourage the making of films with terrorism as part of the story line, forever. (which by the way I agree with)

I don't think there was any insult here. I've never heard him state a political position and in my mind I still haven't, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

If we all start demanding apologies for even the tiniest comment taken out of place, we begin to sound a lot like the far left every time a someone needs political correction.

Not too long ago, Brosnan was nearly beside himself with grief and worry, after his child was involved in an auto accident. I think the kid pulled through, but it would have been nice if Brosnan, after what he himself had just been through, could have shown a little sensitivity to the victims' families and "kept his yap shut."

Brosnan has one of the most wasted careers I've seen for someone who could have been Cary Grant... dumb, forgettable and unimportant roles and not many of them at that. Probably rather lazy, or made enough money to suit himself.

No need for hand-wringing here. He didn't say the memory SHOULD fade, merely that it will. Not "disappear", but fade. He's absolutely right. How anyone could find fault with his statement is beyond me.

Never happen...the average American knows more about Britney Spears/Friends/Survivor/etc. then they do about American history. Pop culture, and what pop culture creates is more important. Being "cool" is more important then education, hard work, accomplishment,integrity, generousity, honesty and country. I don't see how Brosman has said anything outrageous. He didn't say someting like he hated business in America, or how brave and smart the terrorists were. He just said the act will fade. And it already has, to a large extent. Events always fade in people's minds, so the worse he did was make a trite statement.

Some people were unaware when they went to see The Sum Of All Fears that the villians had been changed so as not to offend muslims.

Suggestion for everyone who's ticked off about the changes made to Sum Of All Fears:

Rent the 1996 flick Executive Decision starring Kurt Russell, David Suchet and Halle Berry. This movie so closely parallels the events of 9-11, it's spooky. And, the bad guys are Islamic fanatics, the same as IRL. But in this movie, the good guys win.
