Great article for countering the gun grabbers.

Washingto D.C. is murder capitol of the world (well ,maybe Johannesburg is now , but anyway....) Across the river is Arlington, VA with one of the lowest murder rates.
What's the difference? Arlington has conceal-carry.
To anyone with a brain, that speaks volumes.

You're wrong.
The anti-gunners could care less about the real truth in armed self defense. No matter what "proof" is presented to them, they will attack the messenger as 'loony', 'out-of-touch', and 'voodoo scientific study'. Note the uproar made over Prof. John Lott's book 'More Guns, Less Crime'. The criticsm of that book came from a host of people who never read the book and they attacked his funding from the Olin Corporation rather than the data used for the research.
This book Guns Save Lives' is similar to the 'Armed Citizen' put out by the NRA a few years back. Hair-raising stories of people who found the courage and outrage to defend themselves with every means at their disposal. The critics will call it 'over-dramitic','stuff for Hollywood', and 'not the mainstream of reality.'
No, this book is for those who are trying to decide on the manner of self-defense they wish to have. For some the owning of a firearm is a HUGE step in their lives and relationships. This book will give them more examples of 'what can happen' vs. the pie-in-the-sky 'won't happen to me.'

Students of the gun will notice an interesting pattern in how many people successfully defend themselves with tiny weapons, like .22, .25 and .32 caliber handguns that are often derided by the anti-gun lobby as "junk guns" and "Saturday night specials." In many cases however, the marginal stopping power of these little guns prompts the citizen survivors to purchase something bigger at the first opportunity. snip
This particular robber then demonstrated what appears to be a common behavior for his species. It seems that many criminals flee after receiving a minor wound and are later apprehended by police when they seek treatment at a local hospital.
Nobody likes to have holes punched in them.
In my CCW class and in other training I've received, they really stress the importance on not quitting. Not giving up the fight.
Criminals are cowards at heart looking for the easy way out, not a fight. Although, it might be nice to have a magazine full of some heavy caliber hollow points if you're dealing with a whackjob hiped on PCP.

Anyone who believes that you can eliminate or even reduce the number of guns used by criminals by passing gun control laws must also believe that there is no cocaine in the U.S. How can there be? Possession of even the smallest trace amount is illegal.

A speaker at the original Million Mom March once said: "If someone comes at you with a knife or gun, say, 'I know you're upset.' We all want to be valued as human beings." These people are truly too stupid to live.
