FEMA Preparing for Mass Destruction
Newsmax: The Insider Report email 07/14/2002
Posted on 07/14/2002 7:45:49 PM PDT by iowaboy
FEMA, the federal agency charged with disaster preparedness, is engaged in a crash effort to prepare for multiple mass destruction attacks on U.S. cities, NewsMax has learned.
FEMA is already preparing for nuclear, biological and chemical attacks against U.S. cities, including the possibility of multiple attacks with mass destruction weapons.
The agency has already notified vendors, contractors and consultants that it needs to be prepared to handle the logistics of aiding millions of displaced Americans from urban areas that may be attacked.
The agency plans to create emergency, makeshift cities that could house hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans who may have to flee their urban homes if their cities are attacked.
Ominously, FEMA has been given a deadline of having the cities ready to go by January 2003 - in about six months.
A source familiar with the deadline believes the effort is related to making the U.S. prepared for counterattacks if the U.S. invades Iraq sometime next year.
FEMA is currently seeking bids from major real estate management firms, and plans to name three firms in the near future to handle the logistics and planning for these temporary cities.
FEMA officials have told these firms they already have tents and trailers ordered. The tents and trailers would provide shelter for displaced populations.
The real estate firms are expected to provide engineers and architects to lay the plans for emergency infrastructure needs, such as sewerage and electricity.

Ominously, FEMA has been given a deadline of having the cities ready to go by January 2003 - in about six months. I would like to see Newsmax's source for this. It does seem consistent with the latest reports on the ever-receding schedule for military action against Iraq, but that could be because the report is made up out of whole cloth for all we know.

You've had 10 months to secure the border and track visa holders. How's that coming along?

Actually in 1998 the Miami Herald published a story that Homestead Air Reserve Base was one such "INTERNMENT CAMP" and part of a string of such camps nationwide in the even of a mass influx of "illegal immigrants" and the city of Homestead was all distressed over the scenario! So, I know the camps exist. Also, I have credible reports from friends of mine in the SpecOps Community on them.
Wanna get really scared of FEMA? Read an archived thread here on FR called:

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else get the feeling that perhaps there is more here than we are being told? Not sure .. but I do know the Local News has reported that New Jersey is giving away free Iodine Pills to families that live within 10 miles of a Nuke Plant

They just need to prepare for sudden meteorite vaporization syndrome.

If they even get wind that something big is happening they ought to start rounding them up, shipping them home and and nuking the entire region.
But they won't.
I would have already done it if I were in charge. Then we wouldn't be worrying about it now.
Bush is helping the terrorists. Terrorism isn't necessarily about actually causing harm but about having people afraid that you will be causing harm. They don't have to attack constantly- just often enough to keep us scared. If we would take care of the problem once and for all they wouldn't be able to terrorize us.

In simple terms: This story is "Bullsnit" and "FEMA" is worse! Everything "FEMA" does is "not a good thing" and their track record proves what I've said!
Volunteer Ambulance people and Volunteer Firefighters are both a "good thing" and that's the extent of "good things" that "FEMA" should be entrusted with! Case closed IMHO...

It makes you wonder just how high the body count has to go before the administration decides it's more important to destroy the enemy rather than worry about hurting their feelings. I am a lot more pessimistic about PC than most. I don't believe that even a nuclear weapon going off in a major city will dislodge PC. Does it seem to anyone else, that PC has gotten stronger since 9/11, and not weaker? 97 year old gray haired, wheel chair bound great grand mothers are strip searched at airports, but that nerd over there, with the AK 47 and suicide bomb belt is allowed to board an aircraft, because we can't profile anyone. That would be un PC, and we can't even give the appearance of being un PC. I just utterly despise PC, and the egg sucking dog liberals who push it.

A thought...anybody care to re-post that FEMA article I mentioned? Or a link? I'm HTML challenged.

My High School English teacher used to call that the opening sentence. She made sure it was eye catching, so as to interest the reader. My husband uses them in normal conversation all the time and absolutely drives me crazy! Just wish he'd tell me and reporters too, what they're talking about right off the bat and quit wasting my time!

Just for the record. We had FEMA out after we lost our well post-earthquake. They inspected the place and the man was very nice, talked goats and homeschooling with me. Showed me the cracks in our stone fireplace and told me what to do if another hits and how to avoid the fireplace entirely.
Later they sent us a check for $350 to help defray the expenses of getting our well up again.

I'm just wondering if the environmental impact studies have been properly completed PRIOR to the mass relocation of major cities. <\sarcasm>
